Previously I wrote about THQ Nordic announcing the possibility of remaking the legendary action RPG game Gothic. Along with the news they released a playable teaser on STEAM in which afterward 180,000 players answered survey questions and the results were as THQ Nordic put it, “unambiguous”, 94.8% of fans loved what they saw and support the idea of a remake. Today THQ Nordic announced that the Gothic remake will be going into production! THQ Nordic will be establishing a new studio in Barcelona, Spain that will take on the task of creating the remake using player feedback. One big demand by players is a grittier and less colorful world in the final game than what was seen in the playable teaser. The Gothic remake will not be coming anytime soon but will be developed for PC and next-gen consoles.

Headup Games has announced their upcoming game set to be released around Q4 of this year in time for Halloween with their 3D platformer Pumpkin Jack where players take on the role of Jack the pumpkin lord. Pumpkin Jack will take players to a vibrantly colorful world that is peaceful, too peaceful in fact that it made the devil plunge the world in eternal night! The once happy kingdom calls upon a powerful wizard to end this curse but the devil has an ace up his sleeve… Jack, the pumpkin lord! Players will experience gameplay reminiscent of legendary games like Medievil and Jak & Daxter as they must master combo attacks against the forces of good and defeat a variety of foes and unlock new weapons and choose them wisely for battles. Players might lose their heads solving puzzles but Jack will gladly lose his for them to solve physics-based puzzles. Pumpkin Jack will be coming out around the Halloween

CAPCOM announced more information about the upcoming 4v1 multiplayer game that will accompany Resident Evil 3 on its release this April 3rd. Resident Evil Resistance is a cat and mouse multiplayer game where 4 players have to survive whatever the Mastermind (controlled by another player) throws at them as they manipulate the environment they are in. The previous two Masterminds that were announced were Annette Birkin (RE2) and Daniel Fabron who is an original character to this game of the franchise. The two newly announced Masterminds surely make fans of “Resident Evil” excited. Alex Wesker, daughter of the franchises more infamous villain, Albert Wesker, and main antagonist of Resident Evil Revelations 2, and the mysterious Ozwell E. Spencer whose been the shadowy antagonist of the entire series as his mansion was the backdrop of the very first game and his name constantly pops up in UMBRELLA documents since he’s one of the founders of the company. Today CBE Software has announced an update about their upcoming story-driven psychological horror game Someday You’ll Return, its release date for PC! Console players don’t have to worry; the game will be coming later in 2020. Along with the release date comes a new trailer showing more of what players will be expecting as they play as Daniel, a father looking for his missing daughter Stela who ran away from home. Daniel’s search soon brings him to the Moravian forests, a place from his past where he swore he would never return to. In Someday You’ll Return, players will experience all sorts of game mechanics such as crafting, herbalism, stealth, tracking, climbing, interacting with an in-game Smartphone, and a karmic system that will affect the game’s ending. There is no way I can stay calm and professional about this game… Rebellion just took the whole Nazi-Zombie killing genre of gaming to a whole new level of blood splattering Nazi-killing goodness in their latest game Zombie Army 4: Dead War, the latest in their “Zombie Army” franchise. To put it bluntly, this game is what happens when Sniper Elite (another game by Rebellion), Left 4 Dead, and Call of Duty Zombies all had a wild night together in a closet at an awesome party which resulted in the birth of this game! This game continues the story of the previous games; I’ll admit I never played them but the introduction at the start of the game breaks it down perfectly so you don’t feel like to miss anything. You’re part of a global resistance movement that’s fighting back against the hoard of undead Nazis that were unleashed by Hitler as he was losing the war, at the time

Nearly ten years have passed since we got a new installment of the Silent Hill franchise. Now, out of nowhere the original director, Christopher Gans has revealed that a new Silent Hill movie is in the works. While speaking with the website Allocine, Gans teased not only a new Silent Hill but a Project Zero (known as Fatal Frame in the United States) adaptation as well. I have two horror film projects with [producer] Victor Hadida,” Gans told the French site. “I am working on the adaptation of the video game Project Zero. The film will take place in Japan. I especially don’t want to uproot the game from its Japanese haunted house steeting. And we’re also working on a new Silent Hill. Silent Hill, and adaptation of the video game of the same name, made its debut back in 2006 and starred Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, and Laurie Holden. When it comes to traditional RPG games, I’m a noob…still. Does not mean I’m not afraid to throw myself into one and see where it leads to, thanks to Obsidian Entertainment and Versus Evil I was able to try out the upcoming console release of their award-winning game Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, or in this case it’s known as Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Edition. Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Edition picks up where the first game left off; thankfully at the start of this game you are given a breakdown of the previous plot. CAPCOM announced today that their latest installment of the “Devil May Cry” series will be coming to Nintendo Switch in the form of a special edition and will include a new “seamless style” feature not seen so far in the series. Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition’s new “seamless style” feature allows players to have the option to pick one of six fighting styles in the game (players start with four and unlock two more during gameplay) and allow more fluid movement allowing players more of a chance to rack up SSStylish Combos. Rebellion today launched their latest trailer for their upcoming sniper game that pits players against Hitler’s undead army. The trailer titled “101” gives players a look at what they’re going to experience in this Nazi zombie gorefest goodness! In Zombie Army 4: Dead War players can either go alone or team up with friends in online Co-Op to face the undead dangers that linger in post-war Europe where each level has their own unique horrors and ways to kill them. Players can snipe, run and gun, or beat down enemies as they see fit as each set of weapons have perks and abilities that can be upgraded or unlocked making gameplay more enjoyable for the gorehounds. Players will also have the chance to test out their nazi zombie-killing skills in “Hoard Mode” where waves of enemies can be turned into piles of mangled flesh and shattered third Reich dreams. Funcom’s first-person Lovecraftian horror set on Mars, Moons of Madness will be coming to consoles after its successful launch on PC back in October. The game’s developer, Rock Pocket Games delayed the console launch so that they will optimize the game for PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Moons of Madness takes players to a research facility on Mars as one of the technicians who is unaware of the reason the research station is on the red planet but soon discovers that there is something wrong as they began to see things that make them question their sanity as some unknown force has been unleashed on all those on the planet. Moons of Madness will be coming out March 24, 2020, for PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
