11 Bit Studios has announced the final expansion to their post-apocalyptic city building simulation game Frostpunk originally teased as “Project TVADGYCGJR” its real name was revealed to be On the Edge. The expansion is set after “The great storm” that plunged the world into a new ice age and citizens of England form new cites in the frozen wasteland with hopes of keeping humanity alive. As far as we know about On the Edge is that it’s about an expedition sent out from New London with a special assignment and a vague and ominous quote from a character in the game, “They say the snow is dead. But we’ve learnt to the contrary.” Frostpunk: On the Edge will be coming this summer for PC and can be wishlisted on STEAM now.

Switch users will soon get to experience the horror Blair Witch as it makes its way to Nintendo, allowing players to take the horror with them wherever they go, probably not a good idea to play this game in the woods, abandoned buildings, or in basements… but if you choose to that would actually be pretty badass of you, not gonna lie! In Blair Witch players will experience the horror set in 1996 after the events of the Blair Witch Project through the eyes of Ellis, who ventures into the Black Hills forest with his dog Bullet in search of a boy that went missing only soon to learn that something is terribly wrong with these woods and that he and Bullet are not alone. Souls fans will be happy to hear that the first set of gameplay footage for Cold Symmetry and Playstack’s souls-like game Mortal Shell will be on its way very soon as it will make its presence felt at the upcoming gaming festivals! With major public events canceled for the year due to COVID-19, a new string of events dubbed “2020 Summer of Digital Showcases” as many gaming news sites and game companies will be holding their own digital expos showcasing their upcoming games. The first official gameplay footage for Mortal Shell will make its world debut at IGN Summer of Gaming on June 5th. Mental Illnesses like Depression and Anxiety are becoming more and more common now and those who suffer from it first start experiencing this while they’re in their adolescence, the worst time of your life. Not many people know what “it’s like” but the folks over at Genius Slackers have developed a very real crash course for those unfamiliar with it in their upcoming psychological horror game What Happened. Players are taken to tackle the struggle of Stiles, a high schooler struggling with Depression and Anxiety. Players will go into Stiles’ mind and navigate through the dark corners of his subconscious to unravel the trauma hidden inside that torments at him and lead him away from self-destruction. The awesome folks over at Playmind gave me the opportunity to experience their award-winning atmospheric psychological thriller The Inner Friend. In this game, players will be taking on the role of an unnamed character (that resembles a child) that journey through the subconscious world of the Shadow, the literal inner-child of the player’s character picking up the pieces of the past and facing past trauma. Since there’s nothing earth-shattering negative about The Inner Friend, let’s get some of the negative points that out of the way first. The game’s length is short, I was able to beat it in about 2 hours or so but I enjoyed every second of it. The controls for the game are a bit aggravating as directing the direction of the character is a bit tedious and there’s no real tutorial, which is alright in the end as you literally only use two buttons and the control sticks. With that, now onto the positives! As

Awesome Games Studio where indeed awesome and gave me the opportunity to give their 2D platforming, shooter Fury Unleashed a try! Taking place in a comic book world, you take on the role of Fury, a soldier that runs and guns through the world around them as they learn more about the origin of their world as well as themselves. The game is quite nostalgic in its gameplay mechanics as you have to jump up and down platforms as you shoot at enemies, anyone who grew up in the 80’s and early 90’s know these types of games. The controls are not very complicated and given some short work you can get used to them fairly quickly. The graphics are quite fitting for this game and flow cleanly making the 2D art pleasant to see. You really are transferred into a comic book-like world with how everything looks together. Each map of the game is set up like a page

Ebb Software released the trailer for their upcoming first-person horror game Scorn that will be coming exclusively to the new Xbox Series X console. Players will be taken into a twisted nightmarish world, which looks to be heavily influenced by the works of H.R. Giger, as they play as an unnamed character that is traversing a nightmarish world facing its horrors alone as each new area has unique puzzles, characters, and weaponry that can be unlocked as the player advances in the story. Scorn’s game director Ljubomir Peklar had this to say about Ebb Software’s collaboration with Microsoft: For us as developers it’s imperative to present Scorn in the best way possible. Ubisoft has announced this morning the latest edition to the “Assassin’s Creed” saga will take players to the cold north seas of the 9th Century as they play through their own Viking saga that would dwarf other Viking epics in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Players will be taking on the role of Eivor, a Norwegian Viking raider leading their clan from war-torn Norway to the shores of England. The Vikings encounter the Saxons who wish to purge them from the lands. Eivor must not only lead their clan to new riches and lands to settle in, but they must also try to achieve their destiny and ensure their place in Valhalla, the Norse afterlife. Players can choose Eivor’s gender (as the name is unisex) and they can customize Eivor’s appearance such as hairstyle, war paint, and tattoos. Wales Interactive announced today that their upcoming first-person horror or survival game Maid of Sker will be coming out in June for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Players will be taken back to 1898 where they play as a guest staying at the Sker Hotel where they must survive their stay as they uncover the dark history surrounding the hotel. Players will have to rely on stealth in order to bypass their enemies (known as the Quiet Ones) who will hunt players by using sound, this results in players having to control the character’s breathing! The game borrows heavily on British and Welsh folklore as the game itself is inspired by the Welsh folk-tale of Elisabeth Williams, an 1800’s tale about a woman locked in her room by her father resulting in her dying of a broken heart. With the recent news of declassified information about UFO’s this is kind of fitting (or ominous) that today THQ Nordic has announced the release date for the upcoming re-release of their 2005 cult classic alien invasion game Destroy All Humans! will be arriving on earth this summer! Play as Crypto-137, a smart-alecky alien sent to a stereotypical 1950’s Earth to cause mayhem while getting instructions from his superior Orthopox (voiced by Invader Zim himself, Richard Steven Horvitz!). Hilarity ensues as Crypto uses an arsenal of alien weaponry and abilities to conquer humanity. Players will also be able to fly Crypto’s flying saucer and use it as a weapon or to just fling cows around with the tractor beam.
