Artsploitation Films has announced the DVD and Digital release of Aik Karapetian‘s (The Man in the Orange Jacket) Lavian thriller Firstborn, a subtle and quietly devastating thriller about a man whose masculinity is put in question by his wife after his feeble reaction to a mugging. He then feels compelled to exact revenge on his attacker. Maja Doveika, Kaspars Znotins, Dainis Grube, and Kaspars Zale star in the film written and directed by Karapetian. In the intense yet coolly observed psychological thriller, Francis is a meek middle-aged architect trapped in an unhappy with his younger wife Katrina. Devilworks has just unleashed the poster and trailer for the UK’s supernatural horror The Young Cannibals from the writing and directing duo of Kris Carr and Sam Fowler. Starring Megan Purvis and Hannah Louise Howell, “this fast-paced horror follows a group of friends as they arrive at a secluded campsite, where they plan on spending a relaxing weekend by the lake. What they didn’t plan on, was being tricked into eating burgers made of human flesh. This act summons an unrelenting supernatural creature, which hunts them down one by one.” Charlie Pride produced for Bad Taste Pictures. Devilworks is representing Worldwide rights and will start to sell at the upcoming Cannes festival.

The legendary Italian filmmaker who brought us Suspiria, Deep Red, Phenomena, and his collaboration with George A. Romero with Dawn of the Dead, Dario Argento, will now add video games to his list of works as the artistic director for the upcoming horror/thriller Dreadful Bond that’s being made by Clod Studio. The indie crowd-funded game is still in the works has a Kickstarter up where you can donate, and depending on how much you donate, can receive items signed by Argento himself! Dreadful Bond is a project that’s very close to my themes, to my films, to my dreams: it has something deep that struck me immediately. I got carried away on this new journey with Clod Studio” says Argento. The game is a supernatural, psychological thriller set in the first-person view of an unknown character who is exploring a mansion that was the site of recent horrors. At the eighth annual Italian Video Game Awards, Remothered: Tormented Fathers won best Italian Game of 2018, a well-deserved win for Stormind Games and Darril Arts. The third person stealth horror game takes place in 1970’s Italy where players take on the role of Rosemary Reed as she investigates the disappearance of a young girl which brings her to the mansion of Dr. Felton. The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires is flat out fright flick brilliance, and contains a putrid plethora of astoundingly entertaining elements that’ll have fang bang lovers grinnin’ from ear to eerie ear! In that most conventional of settings for an Italian giallo flick; Dublin, Ireland an acid-hucking psycho with an affinity for razors kills the shit out of a lassie and sticks the newly minted corpse in a limousine owned by Swiss Ambassador Sobiesky (Anton Diffring). Being a foreign diplomat, that mother fucker claims immunity toot-F’n-sweet as the body count continues to rise. The police decide to play hardball and bring in a real ball busting son of a bitch; namely ex-cop John Norton (Luigi Pistilli) to hunt down that murderous maniac before he can kill again! Full of lurid violence, an overwrought mystery, mod fashions, nudity, and of course, a black gloved killer; The Iguana With the Tongue of Fire is a fine example of the giallo fare that followed in the wake of Argento’s The Bird with the Crystal Plumage; although to be fair, this one pushes the tasteless meter more towards the likes of Fulci’s New York Ripper, especially

The German metal group Rammstein, have released their first new single in 10 years, the song is simply titled, Deutschland (Germany). Along with the new single came its music video which Rammstein is known for having very cinematic videos but prior to the release, a teaser video was posted to Youtube by the band depicting the band’s keyboardist Flake Lorenz, lead singer Till Lindemann, rhythm guitarist Paul Landers, and bassist Oliver Riedel with nooses around their necks standing under a makeshift gallows dressed in concentration camp uniforms. The teaser video along with the actual music video, directed by Specter Berlin, has come under fire by critics in Germany and elsewhere in the world for the use of Holocaust imagery. After watching the music video multiple times my history nerd side became intrigued. While many focused on the concentration camp imagery, they’re missing a bigger picture being painted. The music video features German Actress Ruby Commey who plays Germany. The video

In the early to mid 1970’s Sonny Chiba kicked so many asses that there was a serious concern that their would be no more asses to kick going forward. These are the chronicles of those events…or a collection of three of his most legendary films, all falling under the Street Fighter banner on Blu-ray from Shout! Select…either/or… Let’s kick things off with: The Street Fighter (1974): Terry Tsurugi (Sonny Chiba) is one hard-ass mother fucker. Take this for an example: our hero frees a condemned man from prison by performing his “oxygen coma punch” causing him to collapse just before he can be executed, and as he is spirited to the hospital, Terry attacks the ambulance and frees him. Small problem there; the convict’s family can’t pay Terry’s fee so he goes to beat the shit out of the family which results in one fresh corpse, and a woman sold into sexual slavery courtesy of local crime boss Renzo Mutaguchi
