The unsettling, supernatural-thriller Soul to Keep, from co-directors David Allensworth and Monière, took home the award for Best Female Actress for rising Sandra Mae Frank‘s performance as well as a nomination for Best Picture at HorrorHound. Now, it’s headed towards its April release. In the film, Beelzebub, an ancient demon hell-bent on consuming and possessing souls, preys on Millennials at a rundown country house. With an agenda that spans thousands of years to bring Hell to Earth, this Prince of Darkness has finally arrived. “Besides being a high concept demon possession tale with stout performances and surprise twists, Soul To Keep’s core appeal is the Deaf aspect organically incorporated within the storyline. It’s not so much that the lead character in the film is deaf, it’s the fact that the hearing characters use sign language to communicate with her. By doing so, with authenticity and natural flow, it shows how a social group of both hearing and deaf can exist

What’s more terrifying than a monster to a teenager? A giant red spot, a blemish that may be more than it appears, that’s what’s revealed on the new poster for Acadamy Award-winner Guillermo del Toro‘s adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home. Written by Guillermo del Toro, Dan Hageman, and Kevin Hageman, the film stars Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Abrams, Dean Norris,

The theatrical premiere of Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer‘s highly-anticipated reimagining of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary is still a month away. While some witnessed its world premiere at SXSW the rest of us are eagerly awaiting our shot to see the film that is already getting rave reviews. Today, we got word that there may already be another installment in the works, this time it’s a prequel, at least that’s what producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is saying. I generally don’t start thinking about [sequels] until they’re a success. I think if there’s anything here, there’s a prequel. I think if you look at the book, we didn’t cover all that stuff that happens before the Creed family moves in. So, I think there’s a movie there, and I think I’d be particularly interested in doing that, because again, it’s the source material and you are going toward something that also has a lot of crazy, creepy feelings about it.” Bonaventura

A lot has changed since I last shared about the game, mainly the release date changed, but for the better. Rocket Pocket Games has teamed up with Funcom and have set the game’s release around the Halloween season this year! Along with a new release date comes new information about the game. As previously mentioned you play as Shane Newhart, a technician working at a secret research base stationed on Mars. Soon Shane will begin to see and hear things that aren’t there…or are they? He’ll discover that he’s alone at the station…or is he? Cosmic horrors the likes of which Lovecraft wrote about will make its presence

There was a script by Janiak and Phil Graziadei that picked up 20 years after the original movie with a new group of witches, but there is no word if the script will be used or if a new one will be written. Doug Wick, who produced the original, will be returning to produce along with Jason Blum.
