From the makers of “Sherlock” comes “Dracula,” starring Claes Bang (The Girl in the Spider’s Web). And today, we’ve got the BBC premiere date. The three-episode 90-minute series, written and created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, is a co-production of Netflix and BBC and is based on Bram Stoker’s classic tale. Set in Transylvania in 1897, the blood-drinking Count is drawing his plans against Victorian London. John Heffernan, Dolly Wells, Sacha Dhawan, Jonathan Aris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, and Joanna Scanlan also star. The first episode premieres on BBC at 9 pm on January 1, 2020. The next airs on January 2nd, followed by the third and final episode on January 3rd. There is no word yet when “Dracula” will premiere on Netflix. The episode titles include “The Rules of the Beast,” “Blood Vessel” and “The Dark Compass.”

Netflix’s latest exploration into the mind of serials killers will delve into the crimes of Henry Lee Lucas in the documentary “The Confession Killer“. The killer, who claims to have killed hundreds of victims in the 1980s was the inspiration for the 1986 film, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, starring Michael Rooker. Netflix and filmmakers Robert Kenner and Taki Oldham explore Lucas’ crimes and confessions of slaying multiple victims. Originally convicted of killing three people in 1998, including his own mother, he admitted to killing around 600 victims across the US. But many of his supposed victims were lies. Apple TV+ continues to add to its library which is turning out to be incredible. One of their upcoming series is the eight-episode adaptation of Stephen King‘s 2006 novel “Lisey’s Story.” Deadline is reporting that Joan Allen (“Mindhunter”, The Contender) has joined the cast that already includes Oscar winner Julianne Moore, Clive Owen, and Jonathan Rayson. Night Shyamalan made the announcement on The Tonight Show this weekend. “Doctor Who” and “Good Omens” star David Tennant is set to play serial killer Dennis Nilsen in the ITV series “Des” about the Scottish serial killer who murdered men in London in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The three-part series is based on the book by Brian Masters who penned the killer’s biography, “Killing for Company.” Tennant will star as Nilsen, also known as “Des”. Daniel Mays (“Line of Duty”)plays the cop investigating the killer and Jason Watkins (“The Crown”) has been cast as Brian Masters. Luke Neal penned “Des”. Nielsen aka “Des” murdered 12 to 15 boys and young men in his flat in London. He went undetected until cops investigate fragments of human flesh and bone clogging the drains in his building.
