From director Aaron B. Koontz comes the western horror The Pale Door, an indie film that follows a group of outlaws that discover a woman locked inside a trunk during a trailer robbery. They release her not knowing that she is a witch. When one of the gang is shot they follow her to her town in hopes of finding a doctor and saving their leader, but things don’t go as planned after entering a brothel. Even though the film had a small budget, the cast is surprisingly good, especially Devin Druid, Zachary Knighton, Bill Sage, Pat Healy, Natasha Bassett, and Monster Squad actor Stan Shaw. The cast also includes Melora Walters, Noah Segan, and James Landry Hebert who plays the infamous Cotton Mather. The special effects, which features a ton of gunfire, burn makeup and people crawling on ceilings, were impressive, as was the town that I assume was built just for the movie. With the release of the southern gothic thriller The Devil to Pay, I sat down with the husband and wife writing, directing, and producing duo Ruckus and Lane Skye to talk about the film and their writing process. The Devil to Pay centers on an Appalachian woman named Lemon (Danielle Deadwyler) who must fight to save herself, her son, and her home after her husband disappears and a powerful family demands her husband’s debt be paid, or else. Horror Fuel: “I love the location you chose for your film. There’s just something about the mountains. And they also seem sort of like a character in the film. It’s great cinematography. How did you go about capturing that?” Ruckus: “We shot in Hiawassee, Georgia, about two hours north of Atlanta. It’s actually a pretty town. We had to erase some houses and powerlines out of the footage. It’s a little movie magic.” Lane:” We had a guy come in and do

Terror Films has acquired the worldwide digital rights to Marcus McCollum’s feature film debut, Noise In the Middle. “After the sudden death of his wife Sara, Richard, a grieving and emotionally ill-equipped father is left on his own to care for his severely, non-verbal autistic daughter Emmie. Before her death, Sara had arranged for Emmy to partake in an experimental therapy and rented a house near the facility where the treatments would take place. Little does Richard know the house has a haunted history. While Richard struggles with his wife’s death he soon realizes he has no patience, skills, or even any empathy to deal with Emmie’s condition and begins to find solace in drinking and drugs. Chelsea (Amanda Arcuri) is your normal teen pain in the ass; giving her mom (Savannah Kennick) static on the regular while her pappy is in parts unknown doing duty for the military brass. Thankfully she has her online chat sesh with “VRCowboy” to keep her grounded. Turns out that cow poke is in fact a dude named Brad (Jackson Rathbone), and he and Chel-Chel are planning to meet in the flesh at ye olde out of towne Samhain shindig. Well, that goes tits up, and our heroine finds herself chained up in a basement, and Brad sure as fuck isn’t what he seems! Adding to the fun, Chelsea must convince her fellow captives; a cadre of blonde A.F. cheerleaders, Meagan (Kerri Medders), Heather (Elise Luthman), and Victoria (Kaitlyn Black) by name, that they are indeed not in love with Brad (even though he has brainwashed them into believing otherwise), but that they need to get the hell out of there

Sick ticket John (Costas Mandylor) gets his rocks off by doin’ the sex with his step-daughter (if PornHub is to believed, so is everyone else in the known universe) Zoe (Gemma Dallender), who is kinda/sorta his prisoner, as well as an accomplice in his game of luring young women into his private torture chamber. Speaking of Echo, drunk driver Kurt (the aforementioned Adams) swerves to miss a deer and instead gets Echo under his wheels. This of course forces him to throw Operation: Save Ass into high fuckin’ gear, and he chucks Echo in the back of his truck and heads off to cover up his crime! With Echo missing, Ivy goes all-in on re-opening her third eye to solve the mystery… meanwhile ol’ Kurt is dealing with the vengeful ghost of Echo! Post-production has been completed on Creatures, the new movie from Tony Jopia, the director that brought you Cute Little Buggers and Crying Wolf, the executive producer of The Hive, and the creator of Good Tidings. Here we have a real treat I’m lookin’ forward to slappin’ my putrid peepers upon; namely the Barry J. Gillis Triple Threat Collection! Let’s take the demonic dive, shall we cats n’ creeps? First up is 1989’s Things! After a dream sequence involving a fully nude woman in a devil mask and a mutant baby, we get down to brass tacks with the meat n’ potatoes of Things. Our hero Doug (Doug Bunston) is nowhere to be seen as his brother Don (Barry J. Gillis, who wrote and produced) and his pal and Fred (Bruce Roach) ransack his house for beer and play a weird ass demonic tape and rifle through his books. Doug returns and yells at them, but the goofs don’t scram; instead they drink more beer, look for cockroaches to eat, and try to tune into the beastality network on TV… also drink beer. You may think this makes little to no sense, and it doesn’t… but
