Sweetwater Pictures, Aved Productions, and Bruise Productions have just announced that following a successful theatrical run in Spain (its country of origin) the critically acclaimed “Giallo” inspired thriller Sweet Pain (aka Dolorosa Gioia), written and directed by Gonzalo Lopez has been acquired by Leomark Studios for North American distribution. The film tells the tale of Carlo (Amiran Winter), a young music composer from a wealthy family who is going through an emotional crisis. When he moves into a new house he harks back to the events that led to his current state: his first marriage, his obsession with music, the infidelities, and their murderous consequences. While the past haunts him in the form of visceral memories, Carlo strives to get his life back together and to not descend into a dark pit of madness. Our thriller Sweet Pain was actually loosely inspired by the tragic life of Renaissance music composer Carlo Gesualdo. Our story is set in the present day

Kamikaze Dogfight in partnership with Gravitas Ventures, a Red Arrow Studios company, has announced the Digital HD and Cable VOD release of Rony Patel‘s debut slasher Chop Chop. In the movie, “an ordinary pizza delivery leads to a night of chaos when a murderous psychopath targets a young couple who might be harboring a secret of their own.” An innocent night between a young couple takes a bizarre turn when a psychotic serial killer comes knocking at the door. As the couple starts to fend for their lives, we soon learn there might be more to the lovers than meets the eye. A long fight for survival leads them into a series of unsettling encounters within the criminal underworld. Atala Arce and Jake Taylor star as the young couple whose attack by a murdering psychopath is only the beginning of a very dangerous night. In a dystopian, or is that draconian… hell let’s just say it’s both… anyway, in a dystopian/draconian era, Flora (Yelena Ferrer) spends her time playing organ in a titanic, seemingly abandoned church… well that, and hooking Chi (Sui Nakashima) up to a scanner cum torture device called Goda, and grilling her for info, as well as playing armchair therapist to her victim. Naturally the two fall in love, much to the chagrin of Flora’s superior, General Stewart Bailey (Ravin Patterson) who maims Flora with the ol’ cigarette to the putrid peeper bag! Anyway, things come to a head, and soon the two find themselves at the mercy of Satanic mother fucker Lord Goody (Bruce Hermann), but is all hope really lost? The Song of Her is one delicious slice of sinister short film (this picture runs about 21 minutes) perfection! Coming off as a bit like a “What if Bram Stoker wrote 1984?” affair, this flick is a deft blend

This October, explore a new house of horrors. Culture Shock Japan presents A Tokyo Bay Films production, Tokyo Home Stay Massacre! In the indie film, three American late teens travel to Japan to escape a sad past and have some fun but end up trapped in a house with a demented Japanese host family who plans to offer them to their gods in a sick ancient Japanese ritual. Diana G., Will Harrell, and Alex Derycz star in the film from writer-directors Kenta Osaka and Hirohito Takimoto. Before I kick of this revoltin’ review, let me state that if you are negatively effected by rapid strobing light and images, you may want to avoid this film. The basics of Flesh City goes as follows: Vyren (Christian Serritiello) meets Loquette (Eva Ferox) in a Berlin industrial nightclub, get a dude named Cyril (Shaun Lawton) right pissed over a video game, then decide it would be a shit hot idea to explore the club’s basement. Is that what kids are into these days? Weirdos… Speaking of weird, there is some sort of magic crystal down there that can open a gate… oh and our heroes are menaced by Prof. Yagov (Arthur Patching) and his fuckin’ robot. Vyren takes a powder from all this lunacy, but there is no way he’s gettin’ out of this nuthouse intact; to wit. he’s beginning to mutate, and if Yagov has his way, the entire city will follow suit! Para-military bad-ass Maria (Maria Leite) frees science experiment TS-347 (Joaquim Guerreiro); a man with superhuman strength…and as a result an entire military complex and their zombies (though that word is taboo in this pic my creeps!) are after their asses but good! Enter: Pedro (Pedro Barão Dias), a real party animal cum ambition deficient dude that is ill prepared for the apocalypse of shambling dead he’s about to find himself balls deep in. Thankfully he has ol’ M-dawg to pull his fat out of the fuckin’ fire! Anyway, our heroes attempt to survive an onslaught of monsters as they journey to a safe haven…which is only complicated by the introduction of a nuclear bomb into the manic mix…not to mention those pesky mutations! Hershel (John Littlefield) offers a gaggle of teens a fabulous cash prize if they make it through his lil’ ol’ corn maze in two hours time. Seems like easy money… except Hershel is a psycho killer qu’est-ce que c’est, and so are his hulking brutish sons and freak-ass daughter (Aimee Stolte), and as you lot well and truly know; the family that slays together stays together… and those teens are number one on their “must kill” list! Thankfully for this fright flick, those teens; Brandon (Houston Stevenson), Wendy (Emily Sweet), Rustin (Chris Leary), and Melanie (Tiana Tuttle) by name, are a damn personable crowd, so we actually give a fuck or two whether they make it through the ordeal with all of their various pieces intact. Creepy Ex-Boyfriend Productions has joined forces with distributors Indie Rights for digital and Allied Vaughn for the release of the hilarious award-winning kaiju comedy spoof Notzilla unleashed in August. “When a scientist from Japan smuggles a monster’s egg into the United States, what could possibly go wrong when it actually hatches—and alcohol makes it grow taller than a skyscraper?
