Movie Review: Paranormal Hollywood Haunting (2026)

British Faux-documentary filmmaker Carl Medland rocked my socks with his trio of funny n’ freaky supernatural investigations into a farm with some bad fuckin’ mojo in the appropriately named Paranormal Farm series (reviews of which can be read here, here, and here). Well, our haunt-seeking host is back with another journey into the bizarre with his latest offering, Paranormal Hollywood Haunting… Arriving in America, Carl sets out to explore the Hollywood mansion of film veteran Arthur Porter and author/health advocate Daniel P’Lopez; an abode nestled right smack in the legendary Hollywood hills. As Carl and his cameraman Mumtaz “Taz” Yildirimlar, begin their investigation, the expected ghostly goings-on begin, but there is a deeper, more personal side to the yarn at hand that soon rises to the surface… That’s the beautiful thing about Paranormal Hollywood Haunting; while treating us to another outré investigation we get a glimpse of a truly human experience. As the film carries on it’s exaggerated fictional preternatural

The Next Installment of the ‘Paranormal Activity’ Franchise Now Has a Star and Release Date

The Paranormal Activity franchise is dusting off its night-vision cameras yet again, and it has officially found its next victim—er, star. Deadline reports that Chase Yi (Mythic Quest) has secured a lead role in the upcoming installment. However, it is currently being fast-tracked as a priority project by the newly minted horror superpower Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Paramount Pictures. Coming in 2027 True to the franchise’s standard operating procedure, specific plot points and character details are being kept strictly under wraps. Presumably, someone will buy a house they shouldn’t, ignore several massive red flags, and set up a tripod. Behind the camera, Canadian filmmaker Ian Tuason—the creative mind behind A24’s Undertone—has been tapped to direct. The film is locked in for a prime pre-summer release date of May 21, 2027, with Paramount handling worldwide distribution. Movie Review: The Paranormal (1998) - Visual Vengeance Blu-ray

Movie Review: The Paranormal (1998) – Visual Vengeance Blu-ray

Something preternatural is taking place within the wicked walls of The Englewood theater down Missouri way! Enter: Kyle Jennings (Todd Norris, who directed and co-wrote the picture along with C. Wayne Owens… who has a roll in the film as well), a paranormal investigator desperate to prove his scientific worth to the university he’s employed by. Kyle, along with his Department Head/believer in the supernatural, Cass Charbonneau (Lisa Winegar), head out to the eerie Englewood (located in his ol’ hometown no less), and finds the theater to be managed by his old high school gal pal, Lynne Meredith (Audrey Crabtree)… who is one of two employees of the establishment along with projectionist Johnnie (Gina Tarantino). The ghostly presence wastes no time, as shortly after our hero’s arrival a campy action/horror film called Z is for Zombie begins playing on it’s own and the doors to the outside world are locked tight by an outré force! To make matters worse, during

Spoiler-Free Review: “Department of Paranormal Affairs” (Calgary Underground Film Festival)

Spoiler-Free Review: “Department of Paranormal Affairs” (Calgary Underground Film Festival)

If you’re in the mood for a brisk supernatural comedy, you need look no further than the new Canadian six-part episodic short-form series Department of Paranormal Affairs. The series boasts highly likable characters in decidedly irregular situations. In the world of Department of Paranormal Affairs, ghosts, vampires, and other things that go bump in the night are real. This branch of the government deals with them in a different way than usual in series and movies. Rather than hunting them down to dispose of such entities, this agency looks to help them fit in positively with human society. The department’s civil servants consist of Director Greg LeGrow (Donovan Workun), who does as little as possible; Scott Power (David Feehan), the straight-laced rule follower of the bunch; and new hire Jenny Hicks (Nancy Ngo), who initially would rather punch a ghost than read a book about how to properly deal with one. Series creator Feehan, who shares screenwriting credits with Jessy
