Two of the most successful franchise in modern history, the Saw franchise, and The Conjuring franchise, are uniting for a new franchise based on the true horrific events that took place at the infamous property known as The Lalaurie Mansion, still considered one of the most haunted houses in the world. We first reported the news back in October of 2019, but today, it was officially announced that brilliant filmmaker Darren Lynn Bousman (Spiral, Saw franchise) will be in the director’s chair and that Chad and Carey Hayes, the creators of The Conjuring franchise, are teaming with Faster Horse Pictures, the film and TV production and financing outfit founded and run by Cindy Bond, Doug McKay, and Michael Whalen, to build the new horror film franchise. Talk about a horror dream team. Bousman’s most recent addition in the Saw universe, Spiral, starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson, opened as the #1 film in the U.S. and held the top

Movie Review: The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

The third installment of The Conjuring Franchise, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, has now opened in theaters and landed on HBO Max. Here’s what I think. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return to their roles as the famous real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, which explores the real store of Arne Johnson, which marked the first time in U.S. history that used a demonic possession as a defense in a real murder trial. Consider this your warning, there are mild spoilers ahead. While we’ve known about the film’s plot for a while now, there were surprises in store for fans with many aspects of the story (both real and created) kept under wraps, such as the curse. For that we thank them. I hate watching a film that’s already been spoiled to death in trailers and by advertising campaigns. I’m guessing you’re wondering if it’s scary. The

Blu-ray Review: Baphomet (2021)

Man, ol’ Baphomet knows how to make a mother fuckin’ entrance! We get Satanic ritual, blood drinking, and full frontal nudity before this slice of horror biz even hits the two-minute mark! Speaking of the Big D, we’ll get back to those supernatural shenanigans in a bit, but first let’s start with the “Who, what, when, n’ why?” bag shall we boils n’ ghouls? The Richardson family are all set to celebrate the birth of their first grandchild courtesy of the wonderful womb of their daughter Rebecca (the conveniently named Rebecca Weaver). So that’s cool, and honestly, what could possibly fuck that up? Would you believe real estate? You see, those devil lovin’ high-rollers mentioned earlier want to buy the land the Richardson’s call home sweet home, but they are not keen on selling. The dark bastards take it well though, managing to keep their cool and only causing all manner of putridly paranormal mishaps to befall our heroes. To

Blumhouse And Maniac Productions Acquire The Rights To The Real Life Battersea Poltergeist Story

In an ultra-competitive bidding situation, Blumhouse Television and Michael Seitzman’s Maniac Productions have secured the rights to BBC Radio 4’s “The Battersea Poltergeist” podcast and will be developing into two series, one being titled “Blumhouse’s Ghost Story” that explores the haunting of the Battersea poltergeist and Shirley Hitchings’ experience, that remains the longest paranormal investigation in history. They have also secured the rights to Hitchings’ life story, as well as the rights to her and James Clark’s book, The Poltergeist Prince of London: The Remarkable True Story of the Battersea Poltergeist. During the twelve-year-long investigation into the haunting activities, it was said that strange noises plagued the family, items flew around the room, a poltergeist spoke through letters found around the home or by scrawling messages on walls, and fires started out of thin air. Paranormal experts gathered to find answers and perform exorcisms (pictured below). The family’s young daughter, Shirley, quickly became the focus of the entities. The wildly
