Director Greg Yaitanes Teases Season 2 Of “Castle Rock”

Greg Yaitanes who directed “Castle Rock‘s” the episode “The Queen” in the first season, is back in the director’s chair for the second season, which is now in production. Yaitanes will be directing two episodes this season, including the premiere of the J.J. Abrams-produced series. Season two will spend a lot of time in the nearby town of Jerusalem’s Lot and will delve into the origin story of Miserey character Annie Wilkes, played by Lizzy Caplan (Cloverfield). We wanted to evolve the look on a visual level, and move [more] and be with characters more,” Yaitanes told Indiewire. “One of the things that worked well with ‘The Queen’ was point of view. That episode had a strong point of view of character, so [we’re] bringing that into Annie’s story and giving the show […] more urgency this year, more tension. We’re taking the things that worked well in Season 1 and taking them up a level.” He continued, “We’re seeing

The opportunity to have Tigers Are Not Afraid among them is an absolute honor.” Lopez’s film combines horror and fantasy to deliver a moving portrait of the dire circumstances of the children left behind by Mexico’s brutal drug wars. All Work And No Play Makes “The Shining” A Dull Film

Does Anyone Remember? The Shining film has had plenty written about it. Spielberg made it a center plot point in Ready Player One, focusing on the fact that its creator, Stephen King, hated the film. I think that was a great scene, and far more entertaining in some respects than the actual film. You can read just one of many King articles on this HERE. Cynema is not about film reviews. It’s looking at cynicism in filmmaking and entertainment. Kubrick’s translation of King’s novel has a certain amount of cynicism to it. After some online conversations, I thought I would get this out and off my plate. Was Kubrick a tad cynical in his vision for The Shining? Nostalgia has given Kubrick’s “horror masterpiece” a free pass, in my opinion. Many forget that the film’s 1980 release saw tepid reviews and an indifferent reception. The film made money and did well on cable and home video where it went into

I feel I’m in great company getting the opportunity to direct a story written by Steve,” said Nicotero. “Between Salem’s Lot, Pet Sematary and The Stand, I’ve always found his stories rich in relatable characters forced into supernatural situations beyond their control—the everyday person’s primal fears. To visualize ‘Gray Matter’ for Creepshow with the help of

‘Pet Sematary’ Getting A Prequel ?!

The theatrical premiere of Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer‘s highly-anticipated reimagining of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary is still a month away. While some witnessed its world premiere at SXSW the rest of us are eagerly awaiting our shot to see the film that is already getting rave reviews. Today, we got word that there may already be another installment in the works, this time it’s a prequel, at least that’s what producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is saying. I generally don’t start thinking about [sequels] until they’re a success. I think if there’s anything here, there’s a prequel. I think if you look at the book, we didn’t cover all that stuff that happens before the Creed family moves in. So, I think there’s a movie there, and I think I’d be particularly interested in doing that, because again, it’s the source material and you are going toward something that also has a lot of crazy, creepy feelings about it.” Bonaventura

‘The Dark Tower’ Series Begins Filming This Spring

It feels like every day we are reporting or giving an update on another Stephen King adaptation (not that we are complaining). Today we have an update on Amazon Studios’ upcoming series adaptation of King’s The Dark Tower. According to That Hashtag Show, the series is set to begin production this April in Croatia and will have a 13-episode first season. Casting is still being kept hush, hush at this point but it will be interesting to see who is cast in the roles of Roland and Walter. The 2017 movie starred Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey, and while it had King’s support before the PG-13 release, after it opened in theaters he got very quiet. By the end of it, The Dark Tower only scored a mere 16 on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans were let down due to the amount of story that was left out due to time constraints and the way that everything was rushed to try to
