Marilyn Manson’s Cover Of “The End” For ‘The Stand’ Is Incredible (Listen)

Not only will rocker/actor Marilyn Manson be starring in the new adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Stand“, he’s also contributing to the soundtrack. His cover of The Door’s “The End” for the CBS All Access series has been released and it’s incredible. Listen. This is not the first cover Manson has rocked. He’s made his own versions of Tainted Love, Gerard McMahon‘s “Cry Little Sister” made famous by The Lost Boys film, and most recently “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” which was also covered by Johnny Cash and Elvis. Alexander Skarsgård, Whoopi Goldberg, Jovan Adepo, Marilyn Manson, Owen Teague, Heather Graham, Brad William Henke, Daniel Sunjata, James Marsden, Amber Heard, Nat Wolff, Eion Bailey, Odessa Young, Katherine McNamara, Henry Zaga, and Hamish Linklater star in the series. ‘Doctor Sleep’ Is Getting A Spin-Off

While Mike Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King’s The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep wasn’t a huge smash at the box office, it’s getting nothing but praise. You may be wondering where the franchise will go from here, we can answer that. Warner Bros. has already struck a deal with Flanagan to write a spin-off based on the character of Dick Hallorann, simply titled Hallorann. The chef of the Overlook Hotel was made famous by Scatman Crothers in Stanely Kubrick’s The Shining. The character was most recently played by Carl Lumby in Doctor Sleep. There is no word yet if Lumby will reprise his role in Hallorann or if multiple actors will play the Dick Hallorann. Doctor Sleep is now playing in theaters.

Doctor Sleep Cures Cynema

Reversing Cynema Cynema is not about movie reviews. While I have to tackle some plot points of 2019’s Doctor Sleep, the sequel to 1980’s The Shining, this post is more about the human effort that went into reversing a number of things that left The Shining a sterile and cold film that I always felt was undeserving of the title “terrifying.” You can read my assessment of Cynema in The Shining here: https://horrorfuel.com/2019/04/09/all-work-and-no-play-makes-the-shining-a-dull-film/ Or you can listen to it here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ep-17-friends-dont-let-friends-option-bad-scripts/id1472545207?i=1000453326016 Was Cynema at work with Kubrick’s “masterpiece?” I argued that the answer was “yes.” The original 1980 film was a thin translation of King’s best-selling novel and acted more as a personal indulgence for Kubrick than a functioning horror film. Beautifully made, well done, well produced…it was all those things, but terrifying? No. Dull? Yes. Overrated? Absolutely. Why A Sequel Now? Many forget the overall “Meh” reception of the 1980 The Shining. Critics were mixed to positive and the

Short Review: IT… the uhhh… let’s say Adult Version

Look this shit isn’t going to be for everyone, and is so far beyond NSFW (the film reviewed, not the actual revoltin’ review… well, I mean it’s gonna contain my normal number of “fucks” but they’ll be referring to actual fucking for the most part) that if you have a major stick up your ass about such things you should just move on to ghoulish greener pastures… any way, on with the show! When you think of Pennywise what is the first thing anyone thinks of… go on, I’ll wait… naturally, it’s a spinner making sweet, sweet love to her big ass boyfriend! IT Wants Her Small Tits (this one just had to have a fetish… I mean beyond Stephen King inspired pornography that is), stars Anna Mae (clever name) who, has a nightmare where she finds herself balls deep in Derry, and you just know that creepy clown will show his face… and he does, but before you can

Blu-ray Review: The Stand (1994)

An accident at a military base unleashes the greatest plague mankind has ever known (nicknamed Captain Trips), and the resulting contamination begins decimating Earth’s population faster than shit through a goose. Adding to the apocalyptic calamity on hand is the fact that the hand-full of survivors that are seemingly immune to the disease begin having visions of either the kindly Mother Abigail (Ruby Dee) or the devilish Randall Flagg (Jamey Sheridan), and they are being called towards a rural cornfield in Colorado. Soon sides will be chosen, good and evil will have a final conflict, and the fate of the world will be decided! Comprised of one hell of a stellar cast, some impressive visuals, and gnarly effects and make-up, this adaptation of Stephen King’s epic is a fantastic fright flick that manages the Herculean task of boiling down the maestro’s dense work into something that both wouldn’t run 18,645 minutes in length, and could actually be played on mid-90’s

The cast has been quickly building for CBS All Access’ reboot of Stephen King‘s “The Stand“. King himself appeared on “The View” today as part of the publicity for the miniseries where he revealed that co-host Whoopi Goldberg will play the role of Mother Abagail. The announcement triggered Collider to do some digging with the goal of learning who will play one of the most important roles, that of Randall Flagg. It turns out that he will be played by “True Blood” and “Big Little Lies” actor Alexander Skarsgård! Flagg made his first appearance in “The Stand” back in 1978 but has since popped up in several of King’s other stories including The Dark Tower and Hearts of Atlantis.
