Mick Ignis Talks About Playing The Sandman, Demons, And Witches In Interview

Earlier this year I visited the set of ‘Stan Against Evil’ where they were filming their second season. I had the pleasure of meeting Mick Ignis, a talented actor who plays many of the demons and witches on the hit show. Last night, I was able to catch up with Ignis about his roles in the supernatural series which premieres on November 1st. Horror Fuel: “I absolutely loved the first season of ‘Stan Against Evil’. Can you tell us a little about your roles in season one?” Ignis: “I’m so happy to hear that! ‘Stan Against Evil’ is an absolute blast to shoot and it was such a pleasure to drop in for the first two episodes last season. I got to introduce audiences to our first monster, a vindictive witch named Stella Stanas, who’s the first to take advantage of the town demon-hunters death by killing her husband Sheriff Stan Miller…fortunately the only thing she ends up killing is

We Need To Talk About Michael

News of Jamie Lee Curtis’s return to the long-running Halloween franchise almost broke the Internet a few weeks ago. Some online posts were akin to The Beatles US arrival or the announcement of The Force Awakens. Blumhouse has taken the reigns and hopes to run with it. Part of this Cynema post asks, “to where?” There is nothing wrong with what Blumhouse is doing. Films get made, they get sequels, they get remakes. Hats off to any franchise that lasts forty years and remains relevant. However, there are a number Cynema-like elements to this. While everyone gushes about what this means to horror, I am going to look at just what this means to horror. Fan Reaction Details trickled in not long after the initial euphoria. Would this new film ignore the events after Carpenter’s original ’78 film? The news of Judy Greer joining the new film as Laurie Strode’s daughter sent a new wave of concern among online nerd-dom.

‘The Thing In The Apartment’ Is Terrifyingly Good (Watch)

Short horror films set out to squeeze the terror and suspense of a horror film into only a few minutes which is a difficult task. A few days ago I watched a short film titled The Thing in the Apartment, written and directed by John William Ross, that left me very impressed and we have it here to share with you. The film, starring Melia Renee as “Sam” and Carly Jones as “Lindsey”, follows a young a woman who suddenly sees a creature in her apartment and flees in terror. The monster, played by Ryan Allan Young, is so terrifying that it leaves her in shock. After calling her friend, the two return to her apartment where things go from bad to worse. The short, which premiered on Crypt TV, was extremely well executed and the actresses did an amazing job. Jones was very convincing when it came to being terrified. If I saw that thing in my room I’d

Drew Barrymore Producing The CW’s New Horror Anthology Series ‘Black Rose’

Drew Barrymore is a busy lady. Not only is she the star of Netflix’s series ‘Santa Clarita Diet’, she is gearing up to deliver a new horror anthology to The CW. The series, titled ‘Black Rose’, is currently in development from Flower Films, according to Deadline. The series will be both written and directed by women with Barrymore serving as a producer. The pilot episode of ‘Black Rose’ will be penned by Jill Blotevogel who is the former co-showrunner of MTV’s ‘Scream: The TV Series’. The series will explore “some of humanity’s deepest fears from a woman’s unique perspective. Classic themes of terror will be tackled via vignettes about guilt, jealousy, repression, paranoia, insanity, sexual obsession and survival through a modern and distinctly feminine lens.” For many years the male dominated film and television industry has been run by men who often miss the value of a real woman’s perspective. Hopefully, ‘Black Rose’ will bring a much-needed sense of realness

Writer-Director Dan Bush Takes Us Inside His Supernatural Film ‘The Vault’ In An Interview

I had the pleasure of talking with Bush who also directed the upcoming supernatural film The Vault which he co-wrote with Conal Byrne. The Vault combines elements of a bank heist thriller with supernatural elements to create a fantastic film with an all-star cast that includes James Franco, Taryn Manning, Francesca Eastwood, Scott Haze, Q’orianka Kilcher, and Clifton Collins Jr. In The Vault, in order to save their brother Michael’s life, the Dillon sisters, Leah (Francesca Eastwood) and Vee (Taryn Manning) have organized a bank robbery, but when the upstairs vault doesn’t have enough money to cover Michael’s debt, on the advice of Assistant Bank Manager Ed Maas (Franco), they drill into the downstairs vault.
