David Harbour Explains How Hellboy Is Different From The Original

When the new Hellboy movie was first announced I was a bit disappointed to hear that Ron Perlman would not be reprising his role as Hellboy. But when it was revealed that “Stranger Things” star David Harbour had been cast as the star, my curiosity was peaked. This time Guillermo del Toro is not involved. Neil Marshall is directing Hellboy, which has scored a hard “R” rating for violence. You may be wondering what makes Harbour’s Hellboy different from the original. During a recent interview with Empire, Harbour explained how his version of the character is different. We’ve also got a new poster (below). [Perlman] does something quite extraordinary in those [Hellboy] films [directed by del Toro] that is very specific to him, and I did not want to imitate that in any way. In our movie Hellboy’s younger. He’s rougher. He’s much more of a teenager. He’s really struggling with the idea of whether or not he’s a good

Short Film Review: The Congregation (2018)

Carlotta Moore (playing herself) blows into town like an unholy amalgamation of Father Merrin and a film noir femme fatale (and you can bet her make-up is flawless to boot)! What is Moore’s mission? To perform an exorcism of a man possessed by consumerism (and armed with a killer credit card)…all at the hands of a walking, talking Satanic tooth (have I mentioned this short is batshit insane?)…things get stranger from there with Moore attempting to complete her crusade against capitalism no matter what outre forces stand in her way (and if you think that tooth was weird, you are in for oh so much more…)! You know how folks are always going on about “how they don’t make flicks like they used to in the Grindhouse days?” Well CHRZU fucking does! This dude is a powerhouse of beautifully shot, ultra-shocking pure exploitation bliss (and there’s a message in there for ya too), and The Congregation continues that trend (and

The teaser trailer was actually shown in front of an audience attending a London screening of Wiseau’s well-known film, The Room, a film that’s famous for being so bad it’s good. Wiseau will be accompanied by Greg Sestero and Isaiah LaBorde. Sestero is no stranger working with Wiseau as he played Mark in The Room, where the iconic “Oh hai Mark” scene is from. Stephen King’s ‘Mile 81’ Getting An Adaptation

Stephen King adaptations just keep coming (not that we are complaining). Only one day after the trailer was released for the reboot of King’s Pet Sematary, news comes, via Deadline, that Alistar Legrand has now signed on to direct the adaptation of King’s novella Mile 81 from the script penned by Legrand and Luke Harvest. The tale, which was originally an e-book, was later expanded as part of King’s The Bazaar of Bad Dreams collection. “Set around a remote, boarded-up rest stop, the film will follow 12-year-old Pete, his brother, and a group of strangers who must fight to survive as they’re hunted by a mysterious force.” Legrand is the same director behind 2015’s supernatural film The Diabolical and the 2017 thriller Clinical. Ross M. Dinerstein, who produced the adaptation of King’s 1922, will serve as producer for Mile 81 which is headed to the European Film Market in Berlin. Mile 81 follows a long list of King adaptations headed
