Video Game Review: The Metro Series

First Person Shooters, We’ve all heard of them, we all know what they are and they currently dominate the video game spectrum. Ranging from generic war shooters like “Call of Duty” and “Battlefield” to all out insane shoot fests like “Doom” and “Unreal Tournament”. Very few first person shooters are actually able to break the norm and be something unique of their own. They’re one in a generation really like “Half Life 2” or “Fallout 3” or the game that I’m going to talk about, The “Metro” series. The “Metro” series consist of two games, “Metro 2033” and “Metro: Last Light”. They’re based off of Dmitry Glukhovsky’s novels “Metro 2033” and “Metro 2034”. In respect to the source material, the games are spot on with a little bit of exposition missing it is later on filled in the game’s sequel. Without giving away any spoilers here is a quick introduction on the story of the “Metro” series. It all begins

A Look At The Australian Short Film ‘Waterborne’

‘Waterborne’, an Australian short film tells the story of a ranger, who is out testing the water supply of a small Australian town. The ranger is forced to stop his truck on an empty dark road, to keep from hitting a kangaroo in his path. Suddenly the ranger is under attack by a crazed beast that is carrying a deadly zombie virus. This award winning 2014 short film was written by Richard Barcaricchio and Ryan Coonan, who also directed the film. The cast includes Chris Bland, Martin Blum and Don Bridges. ‘Waterborne’ is a nice short film with a unique idea. The special effects were nicely executed and the cast played their parts well. Personally, I would like to see ‘Waterborne’ as a full length feature. Be sure to follow ‘Waterborne’ on Twitter and visit their website waterbornemovie.com . https://vimeo.com/130401504

Spoiler Free Reviews: My Love for You Is Deep But the Devil Loves Me Deeper and Man Eating Pussy (Toronto After Dark Film Festival 2026)

My Love for You Is Deep But the Devil Loves Me Deeper (U.S., 2026) Official synopsis Alice, a young woman shattered by heartbreak after being dumped from her nebbish boyfriend Ryan, encounters the Devil and makes a deal for “all the love in the world.” Review If you have memories of encountering light-night cable TV movies involving “sex from out of nowhere” scenarios and the occasional erotic thriller or offbeat horror outing, you’ll have a decent idea of the vibe that director Casey Donahue has conjured up for My Love for You Is Deep But the Devil Loves Me Deeper. Alice (Emily Whittemore) has had it with her noncommittal ex, and somewhat unknowingly enters a Faustian pact with a stranger in a bar. Poor choice for her but a good one for viewers, as we are treated to her escalating descent into the realm of the demonic. Donahue delivers on his vision, from the opening cable TV announcement to

Series Review: Mike Flanagan's "Carrie" is a Masterpiece

Series Review: Mike Flanagan’s “Carrie” is a Masterpiece

Horror fans are buzzing following the release of Mike Flanagan’s acclaimed series adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie. Streaming now on Prime Video, the eight-episode limited series reimagines the classic telekinetic tragedy for modern audiences. Summer H. Howell stars as the infamous Carrie White, delivering a heartbreaking performance grounded in pure kindness and innocence. After her father dies in an accident, Carrie leaves home in isolation to attend high school under the watchful eye of her hyper-religious mother, played by Samantha Sloyan. You can watch the review below. Modern Consequences Elevate the Classic Nightmare Once at school, Carrie faces merciless harassment led by spoiled bully Chris Hargensen, played by Alice Thornton. Notably, the series updates the setting to the present day, making social media the primary weapon of psychological torture. Chris launches a viral account called Carrie Red, triggering escalating chaos, privacy violations, and violence across the entire student body. While some purists question the modern setting, the digital bullying makes

Canto Bight Would Fail Every KYC Check, And Here's Why

Canto Bight Would Fail Every KYC Check, And Here’s Why

By Mara D. | Genre culture writer and former iGaming compliance analyst Slug: canto-bight-kyc-check Meta description: Canto Bight looks like the ultimate casino fantasy. Here’s why Star Wars’ sin-city planet would get shut down by any real regulator within a week. Why Canto Bight Would Fail Every KYC Check: What Star Wars’ Casino Planet Gets Wrong About Real Online Gambling Canto Bight never asks anyone’s name. That’s the detail that stuck with me watching The Last Jediagain this week, somewhere between Benicio del Toro’s fingers and the fathier stampede. Rose Tico calls it a town for people who make money exploiting war, and she’s not wrong. Nobody at the high-roller tables is showing ID. Nobody’s wiring funds through a traceable account. It’s just chips, champagne, and a complete absence of anyone asking where the money came from. Which is funny, because that’s exactly the stuff that gets a real casino license pulled in about four seconds flat. I spent six

Werewolves, Warlocks, and Way More: 'Devour' Delivers Mayhem in Theaters and on Digital

Werewolves, Warlocks, and Way More: ‘Devour’ Delivers Mayhem in Theaters and on Digital

Epic Pictures and Dread are gearing up to unleash the hair-raising horror film Devour. Directed by Scott B. Hansen and co-written by Desiree Hansen, this unhinged supernatural horror feature mixes heavy metal riffs, neck-snapping vampires, flesh-munching cannibals, a furry werewolf, and a rogue warlock into one chaotic nightmare. The best part? It’s out on Tuesday! Riffs, Teeth, and Warlocks The story follows an all-female heavy metal band stranded in the middle of nowhere after a disastrous gig. Their evening quickly turns apocalyptic when they attempt to rescue a distressed stranger along the road. As a result, the rescue inadvertently traps the musicians in a remote town ruled by a dark warlock. Surrounded by supernatural predators, they must unleash their own dark magic to shred their way out before sunrise. Old-School Practical Creature Effects Rather than relying on digital visual effects, the production brings its creatures to life through practical prosthetics and animatronics. FX artist Wayne Anderson collaborated with the OX FX

THE TURKISH COFFEE TABLE (Turkey, 2025) Official synopsis A couple’s argument over a coffee table spirals into chaos when a simple mistake turns into a desperate web of lies, panic, deception, and the terrifying consequences of trying to cover up the truth. Time to remind you of the darkness underlying everything, one that forces you to look into the void with elegance, wit and sympathy. Review Director Caye Casas gave cinephiles perhaps the strongest
