New Female Superhero series, Copycat, Brings Film and Comic Talent Together

Film and television producer, Todd Garner (The Possession of Hannah Grace(2018), Haunt(2019)) of Broken Road Productions is teaming up with writers, Heath Amodio(The Heathens, Foretold) and Cullen Bunn(Harrow County, Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe), to give us upcoming comic, Copycat. The concept was something Garner said he’d been “sitting on for a bit” because “after working on movies based on graphic novels like Hellboy, I’ve been intrigued by the possibility of creating a new comic book hero.” Copycat’s protagonist is Sarah, a talented ER nurse, with the unique gift of diagnosing her patients with just one touch. Unfortunately, her power comes with a painful price, as she experiences the same suffering as her patients. Scott Hamm Duenas Talks About His Film ‘Rebroken’ In Our Interview

After watching writer and star Scott Hamm Duenas’s new film, Rebroken, also starring Saw franchise actor Tobin Bell, I sat down with Scott to discuss his movie, whose big twist you’ll never see coming (Spoiler Free). The film centers on Will, a devastated father who spends time between court-ordered grief counseling and drinking himself into oblivion. He repeats the cycle of despair daily without plans to stop until he meets a mysterious stranger who gives him some old vinyl recordings. After Will listens to the records, he suddenly receives messages from his recently deceased daughter. As his daughter’s communications grow more frequent, Will becomes convinced that these recordings hold the answer to bringing his daughter back from the dead. But just as he is closing in on the truth, he starts to suspect that his counseling group has ulterior motives. Rebroken is far from Scott’s first involvement in the entertainment industry. Besides starring in, writing, directing, and producing many films,

Movie Review: Project Wolf Hunting (2022)

After a contingent of Korean criminals extradited from the Philippines gets blown sky-high by a mad bomber, the decision is made to move the next load of no-good-niks via cargo ship to a private dock in Busan. While the overall plan is unconventional, the journey gets stranger by the second as the doctor on board is acting suspicious as all fuck, some of the ship’s crew have been replaced by gang members, and there’s a pseudo-zombie, code-named Alpha (Train to Busan‘s Gwi-hwa Choi) below decks… Before you can say “absolute shit-show” things become an absolute shit-show with (most of) the criminals engaging in a bloody (think gallons upon gallons) coup… but that previously mentioned “most of” leads to more tension as the more peaceful of the evil-doers find themselves at odds with their much, MUCH more psychotic brethren, and all are at odds with the remaining police force. Then Alpha, created decades ago by the eponymous Project who had hopes

Spoiler-Free Film Review: Unseen

Spoiler-Free Film Review: Unseen

A phone call unites a visually impaired woman running for her life with a convenience store clerk having troubles of her own hundreds of miles away in director Yoko Okumura’s Unseen. Though it shares its basic conceit of a random stranger helping someone with vision impairment in a dangerous situation with the 2021 film See for Me, it does offer its own different take on the idea. Physician Emily (Midori Francis) has just escaped the clutches of her ex-boyfriend Charlie (Michael Patrick Lane), who drugged and kidnapped her and intends to kill her in the woods of Michigan. Intending to redial 911, she accidentally reaches clerk Sam (Jolene Purdy) instead, and asks Sam to guide her through the wild using her phone’s camera. Sam doesn’t believe she has the gumption to do so, plus she is low on battery, has an abusive customer named Carol (Missi Pyle) harassing her, and there’s also the broken slushie machine to deal with. Unseen
