Game Review: 'Chasing Static'

Game Review: ‘Chasing Static’

Low-poly rendered games that remind you of the way games looked back in the late 90s and early 2000s are becoming more of a thing now, Chasing Static did well on PC and was ported over to consoles to bring the nostalgia back, did it work? Let’s find out. I want to give Headware Games and Ratalaika Games S.L. for the reviewing opportunity. Chasing Static takes place in Wales where players take on the role of Chris, a man who came back to burry his late father and is trying to make his way back home but gets caught up in a strange turn of events where he must explore the surrounding area to find clues to what is happening and how he can help stop the anomalies being caused by an unseen force as well as looking for a waitress, Aneira, that has gone missing after their meeting. Now onto the game itself. The game’s controls are OK. You

New Horror Anthology 'Free To a Bad Home' Arrives This February (Trailer)

New Horror Anthology ‘Free To a Bad Home’ Arrives This February (Trailer)

From the Hale Brothers, and in the tradition of Creepshow and V/H/S, comes a new horror anthology, Free to a Bad Home, about the various forms of evil that lurk in the shadows. In the movie, “The lives of three strangers – a widow, a thief, and an addict – are terrorized by cursed objects and those that spread them.” The film stars Miranda Nieman, Jake C. Young, Olivia Dennis, Hayley Sunshine, and Roni Locke. Says directors Scott and Kameron Hale, “Ever since watching classic horror movies, such as Night of the Living Dead and Halloween, at far too young of an age, we have always had an unshakeable love and obsession with film, but especially Horror. In our opinion, it is the most flexible, creative, and honest subgenre, and it affords those who embrace it an opportunity to tell stories that tap into every aspect of the human experience. We have always wanted to write, produce, and direct films.

David Gordon Green's 'The Exorcist' Will Differ From The Original In A Major Way

David Gordon Green’s ‘The Exorcist’ Will Differ From The Original In A Major Way

While many details surrounding the upcoming David Gordon Green (Halloween franchise) reimagining of The Exorcist remain elusive, one detail we’ve learned puts a different spin on the original story. Unlike the 1973 classic, the new movie will center on a father (Leslie Odom Jr.) whose child becomes possessed. He seeks out the help of someone who has had a similar experience, none other than Chris MacNeil, Regan’s mother, played by original actress Ellen Burstyn. This could change the entire tone of the film. So far, the only cast that has been announced includes Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton), Nick Benas (“Stranger Things” season 4), Nigel Barto (“P-Valley”), Ann Dowd, Rory Gross, Richard Carr III, and Amanda Beth. Blumhouse, Morgan Creek, Peacock, and Universal are all involved in the new version, which has a massive budget of $400 Million. But the big question is can it stand up to the 1973 original that is still referred to as “the best horror movie

Movie Review: Dracula vs. Frankenstein (1971)

Movie Review: Dracula vs. Frankenstein (1971)

After the most Ray Dennis Steckler opening credits sequence that Ray Dennis Steckler never directed, Al Adamson’s Dracula vs. Frankenstein gets underway… and boy fuckin’ does it ever a graverobbing Dracula (Zandor Vorkov… much more impressive a moniker than Roger, the record store employee), an axe murder committed by a mute Igor-surrogate named Groton (Lon Chaney Jr. who is argurably most well-known from starring in 1941’s The Wolf Man for Universal, some groovy “kids”, B-Roll of the Vegas strip, and a mad scientist, a descendant of Dr. Frankenstein himself (played in his last role by J. Carrol Naish, no stranger to the monster biz having co-starred in 1944’s House of Frankenstein) performing “experiments” on comely, nude women. How does all of that fit together? Just wait, the movie isn’t done jamming shit together… Added to the monstrous mix, we also get a showgirl, Judith Fontaine (Regina Carrol of 1969’s Satan’s Sadists, another Adamson production) by name, looking for her missing

Movie Review: 'Violent Night' Is Our New Favorite Christmas Movie

Movie Review: ‘Violent Night’ Is Our New Favorite Christmas Movie

One of my favorite aspects of Christmas is the holiday horror films. I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of Violent Night, and yesterday, Universal gifted viewers with the surprise release of it On Demand (it’s still in theaters). I slipped on my PJs, popped a bag of popcorn, snuggled up with my dogs (Rosie and Freyja), and hit play. In the movie, “When a team of mercenaries breaks into a wealthy family compound on Christmas Eve, taking everyone inside hostage, the team isn’t prepared for a surprise combatant: Santa Claus (David Harbour, Black Widow, “Stranger Things”) is on the grounds, and he’s about to show why this Nick is no saint.” David Harbour has proved his acting talent in “Stranger Things,” so I had high expectations that he’d nail a badass Sants, and I was not disappointed. Between his battles with the bad guys, we see the tender side of old Saint Nick when he comes in contact with a
