Movie Review: Return to Horror Hotel (2019)

Here it comes cats n’ creeps, the latest arcane anthology to hit the horror biz; Return to Horror Hotel, a fright flick comprised of four fearsome terror tales! First out of the gate comes Sleep Tight: Disparate strangers take up temporary residence at a rundown hotel… we have a bitchy, slutty, drunken (the classic trio beloved by all!) aunt and her two young charges, a bodybuilder obsessed with his physical form, and strangely enough, two folks who’s legs are horribly infected and turning into oozing nightmares. What do all these fine folks have in common? Why they all have to contend with beastly bed bugs who have gobbled up that muscle man’s steroids and mutated! Best part, that couple with the leakin’ legs; they grind up those creepy crawlies and sell the powder as a potent drug! This is one hell of an off-the wall yarn, and a solid start to this collection… it’s like trailer park William S. Burroughs,

“Supernatural” Star Arrested On Multiple Charges

Early Sunday morning “Supernatural” star Jared Padalecki, who plays Sam Winchester on the hit series, found himself behind bars. Padalecki was busted by cops in the early morning hours of Sunday in Austin, Texas at the bar he owns called Stereotype, TMZ reports. The actor is reportedly facing two counts of assault and one count of public intoxication. Witnesses told the site that Jared hit a bartender in the face inside the bar. A friend tried to calm him down outside but Padalecki put him in a headlock which you can see in the footage obtained by TMZ. He also got into it with the bar’s manager and hit him in the face as well. Eventually, police restrained him, but not before he flashed a handful of cash to officers. Padalecki’s bond was set at between $15,000 and $5, 000 per charge. With “Supernatural’s” final season currently airing I’m sure that Padalecki is going through a range of emotions. Before

Movie Reviews (Brooklyn Horror Film Festival): 1 BR (2019) and This Is Our Home (2019)

A young woman finds out that the old adage “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” can be horrifyingly true in the nerve-wracking chiller 1BR. Sarah (Nicole Brydon Bloom in a superb performance) moves to Los Angeles without a job or apartment, angry after her recently widowed father takes up with a new lover. She lucks out — or so she thinks — when she wins out over several competitors and lands a highly sought-after apartment in a community where everyone knows each other and has community barbecues. Strict rules are in place, though, and Sarah learns a terrifying lesson when she breaks one of them. This is just the beginning of her problems, though, as 1BR heads into territory that it would be a disservice to spoil here. Suffice it to say that the film is filled with not only loads of suspense and cringe-inducing moments (in the best sense of that term), but that

When a single mother accepts the help of a mysterious woman after her daughter is bitten by a rattlesnake, she finds herself making an unthinkable deal to repay her debt in writer-director Zak Hilditch‘s (1922) aptly named Netflix film Rattlesnake. Rattlesnake follows Katrina (Carmen Ejogo), a single mother driving cross country to start a new life with her young daughter Clara (Apollonia Pratt) when their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. As Katrina changes the tire, Clara wanders off the desert road and is bitten by a venomous rattlesnake. Desperate to save her daughter’s life, Katrina accepts the help of a mysterious woman, but after she miraculously heals Clara, Katrina is asked to repay the good deed by killing a stranger in exchange for the life saved. Without time

PC gamers will be given the opportunity to challenge the gods in order to save their friends in their own Greek Epic Argonus and the Gods of Stone by indie game developer Zojoi, the makers of Shadowgate. Players take on the role of Argonus, who washed ashore after his ship Argo crashed against the strange land that he must now explore in order to find his compatriots, the Argonauts. Argonus will face many perils in the form of creatures from Greek Mythology, puzzles, and the Greek Gods themselves. Argonus’s journey is not entirely dire as he is aided by the goddess Athena. The game was inspired by the works of stop-motion legend Ray Harryhausen (Jason and the Argonauts, Clash of the Titans) whose famed sword-wielding skeletons are one of the many foes you must encounter in this first-person experience. Blu-ray Review: Doom Patrol: The Complete First Season (2019)

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share on my own. Let’s be honest cats n’ creeps we live in a wondrous age… an age where it’s possible for any ol’ superhero team to get their own TV show, no matter how offbeat or obscure (as far as the general public is concerned anyway). That brings us to the subject of this here revoltin’ review; Doom Patrol, a great slice of wacky weirdness in it’s four-color iteration, but not the first choice one may have for live-action adaptation. Turns out it should have been… The basic storyline for this super show goes as follows: The Doom Patrol; who’s ranks include Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), a dominant personality of a woman who has been traumatized, Rita Farr (April Bowlby) known as Elasti-Girl who is stretching herself thin trying not to become a permanent bowl of Jell-O,
