Unlike most of our reviews, this SISU review contains some spoilers because, damn it, I need to talk about this movie! Let’s start at the beginning, with the film’s name. “Sisu is a Finnish concept described as stoic determination, tenacity of purpose, grit, bravery, resilience, and hardiness, and is held by Finns to express their national character. Shudder Announces Premiere Of Survival Thriller ‘Quicksand’

Shudder has just announced the June premiere date for the film Quicksand, directed by Andrés Beltrán (Malyerba) and written by Matt Pitts (“Westworld”). The English-language film shot entirely in Bogota, Colombia, follows an American couple on the brink of divorce who travels to Colombia for a work conference. While hiking through the rainforest, a storm causes them to become trapped in a pit of quicksand. Unable to move, it becomes a struggle for survival as they battle the elements of the jungle and a venomous snake in order to escape.
