Now the rest of the world gets their chance to watch the suspense-filled film which critics loved at the London Frightfest, as well as the Sitges Film Festival. This October A 911 Call Triggers A Search For ‘The Guilty’

This October witness the intense thriller The Guilty, from director Gustav Möller and starring Jakob Cedergren (Compulsion). “When police officer Asger Holm (Jakob Cedergren) is demoted to desk work, he expects a sleepy beat as an emergency dispatcher. That all changes when he answers a panicked phone call from a kidnapped woman who then disconnects abruptly. Asger, confined to the police station, is forced to use others as his eyes and ears as the severity of the crime slowly becomes more clear. The search to find the missing woman and her assailant will take every bit of his intuition and skill, as a ticking clock and his own personal demons conspire against him. This innovative and unrelenting Danish thriller uses a single location to great effect, ratcheting up the tension as twists pile up and secrets are revealed. Director Gustav Möller expertly frames the increasingly messy proceedings against the clean Scandinavian sterility of the police department, while Cedergren’s strong performance

Movie Review: Rondo (2018)

Rondo begins with Paul (Luke Sorge), a PTSD suffering ex-combat vet and alcoholic, getting chastised by his sister cum caretaker Jill (Brenna Otts) who ends up sending him to a therapist (Gena Shaw) who unbelievably recommends that he keeps drinking, and prescribes him a rather unorthodox treatment; namely attending a very bizarre sex party with very specific rules…and an end result for each participant that isn’t quite what one would expect. Paul naturallt decides to exit stage left from the whole affair which results in a different kind of orgy…one of violence that at the film’s half way point changes the paradigm of the story completely…and not in a way you would ever guess! As you can surmise, Rondo is a film packed with twists and surprises, and while that results in an edge-of-you-seat, unpredictable thrill ride for the viewer it makes my job excruciatingly difficult because I can’t discuss the reasons why this film is so amazing without giving

Movie Review: Show Yourself (2016)

Ol’ Travis (Ben Hethcoat), one of your floppy haired actor types, heads out to the middle of East Asshair Nowhere to lay to rest the ashes of his deceased chum Paul (I would have just flushed that bitch and went for a pizza, but hey, to each their own). Once at a cabin at said location, Travis dicks around on his phone, dreams about Paul (as do we all…as do we all) and downs some drinks…be still my heart…Anyway, Travis scatters half the ashes into a stagnant pond (where soggy, silent Paul suddenly appears for a tick), and gets on with his whirlwind of boozin’ and Skypin’. Occasionally something makes it’s presence subtly known…when it wants to…which isn’t often…but is it Paul? Let’s start with what I liked about Show Yourself. Actor Hethcoat makes for an engaging lead; he has a nice range, and he definitely carried the story (more on that below) admirably. Moving on… Holy hell this movie
