Killer Thriller ADAM K Gets Summer Release Date

From writer-director-producer Joston Theney comes the killer thriller Adam K whose DVD summer release date has just been announced. Theney is also behind the horror films Axeman (2013) and Axeman 2: Overkill (2016), as well as 2011’s Bleed 4 Me. Mild-mannered and seemingly good-natured auto insurance claims manager Adam K., sets out daily to make friends, however, ends up with mutilated victims when his invitations for friendships are rejected. A gory take on the tale of nature versus nurture that proves that evil wears a smile. Reality star Farrah Abraham (Teen Mom, Celebrity Big Brother) co-stars alongside Mindy Robinson, Kristin Wall, Emii, Arielle Brachfeld, Brinke Stevens, and Sarah Nicklin. The Pact’s Nicholas McCarthy To Direct The Horror Thriller DESCENDANT

Nicholas McCarthy, director of The Pact and At the Devil’s Door, has signed to helm the horror-thriller Descendant, written by Jacob’s Ladder scribe Jeff Buhler, THR reports. The film centers on Sarah and John Turner, parents of Miles, a young boy with genius level intelligence. As he grows older and changes in disturbing ways, people begin wondering if his genius and talents come naturally or if there is something sinister at work. Tripp Vinson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) will produce. XYZ will be executive producing Descendant which is currently in preproduction with filming beginning later this year.

The Orchard Releases Trailer For Norwegian Supernatural Thriller THELMA

The Orchard recently acquired the North American rights to Joachim Trier’s Norwegian supernatural thriller Thelma. Now, the first teaser trailer has arrived. In the film, starring Eili Harboe, Okay Kaya, Ellen Dorrit Petersen and Henrik Rafaelsen, a young woman who while falling in love discovers that she strange powers. The Orchard, who also teamed up with Trier for his previous film Louder Than Bombs, is aiming for a fall theatrical release for Thelma.

A Family’s Weekend Goes To Hell In The Swedish Thriller SARGAD (WOUNDED)

From director Andres R. Ramos comes the Swedish horror-thriller Sargad (Wounded). Written by and starring Sarah Giercksky, the film centers on a family whose somber weekend turns into a fight for survival. The film centers on a Elina, a young woman who has driven to a remote cabin with her mother and younger sister to spread the ashes of her father. Soon after their arrival, the women encounter three brothers who turn their weekend into a living hell. Xander Turian, Jesper Hall, Krister “Twizz” Forsberg, Tindra Hedlund, Alicia Henriksson, Oscar Rusanen, and Brigitta Nrodh co-star. Melissa McCarthy To Star Opposite A Puppet In The Crime-Thriller THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS

Brian Henson’s long gestating dark comedy The Happytime Murders is finally moving forward with funny lady Melissa McCarthy (Ghostbusters) attached to both star and produce. The R-rated film is set to begin filming in August in Los Angeles and takes place in a world were humans live alongside puppets. In the movie two detectives, one human, one puppet, are forced to work together to solve the brutal murder of a member of the cast of “The Happytime Gang”, a popular show featuring puppets. The first concept art has already been unveiled. The Russian Supernatural Thriller THE BRIDE Is Coming This May

There are a lot of great foreign horror films coming out this year. One you need to see is writer-director Svyatoslav Podgayevskiy’s Russian supernatural thriller The Bride (aka Hebecta), starring Vyacheslav Chepurchenko, Aleksandra Rebenok, Igor Khripunov, Valeriya Dmitrieva, Vladmir Sleznyov, Vera Biryukova, and Miroslava Seleznyov. 20th Century Fox Acquires Neil Cross’ Supernatural Thriller INSIDE

The supernatural subgenre seems to be something fans just can’t get enough of. There’s a new film on its way that will give fans what they want. 20th Century Fox beat out several bidders and acquired the rights to screenwriter Neil Cross’ supernatural thriller Inside, Deadline reports. Cross’ most recent project is the BBC series Luther. He also penned the script to the 2013’s Mama which will get a sequel next year. Inside will be produced by The Picture Company’s Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona. Heineman and Rona are also working with Fox on the remake of Escape from New York, directed by Robert Rodriguez. No plot has been revealed at this point sources say that the film involves a CDC type facility that houses dangerous artifacts, and a wronged man who finds himself behind bars in the building.
