Movie Review: Ten Minutes to Midnight

Office politics have never gotten quite the cinematic workout that they do in director Erik Bloomquist’s Ten Minutes to Midnight. To say that it goes down unexpected paths would be an understatement, and that is just part of the bizarre fun of this well-made shocker. Caroline Williams (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 [1986], Halloween II [2009], and more than three dozen other horror outings) plays Amy Marlowe, a veteran disc jockey whose night starts off with a bat bite during an approaching hurricane on her way to work — and things are only going to get worse for her. She soon finds out that this will be her last night before being forcefully retired by her smarmy, sleazy boss Robert (William Youmans) and replaced by his new, young protégé Sienna (Nicole Kang of Swallow [2019] and the Batwoman TV series). Station security guard Ernie (Nicholas Tucci of The Ranger [2018] and You’re Next [2011]) has locked down the building because

Antony J. Stanton’s ‘Once Bitten, Twice Die’ Is A Perfect Blend Of Horror Species – Book Review

Plot This had potential to be a very confusing and unconnected book. There is a lot going on with a lot of characters and a lot of back stories. However, author Antony J. Stanton has it so well organized, so well written that it all fits perfectly together in a plausible, entertaining and fictionally-realistic way. Even the way that vampires, zombies and humans are all intertwined makes sense within Stanton’s world. We have a bevy of apocalyptic stories, zombie stories, and vampire stories, but this one is a plot full of depth, action and exceptional gore. Characters There are a lot of characters in his book. Luckily, Stanton recognizes that and gives a great glossary of characters in the beginning of the novel. His section entitled The Players organizes everyone in a tangible way that really benefits the readers of his novel. Having mentioned the number of characters, it becomes even more impressive that they are all deep, full of

Director Mickey Reece Talks “Climate Of The Hunter” And “Agnes”

Writer-director Mickey Reece, known for his arthouse films such as Arrows of Outrageous Fortune, Mono, and more, sat down with us to discuss his new film Climate of the Hunter, out this month on VOD. In the film, starring Ginger Gilmartin, Mary Buss, Ben Hall, and Jacob Ryan Snovel, “two sisters, Alma and Elizabeth, along with a dog who’s described as a “philosopher,” have come to Alma’s remote house to reconnect with Wesley after twenty years. Alma is recently divorced and Elizabeth is a workaholic in Washington, D.C., while Wesley lives in Paris dealing with a wife recently struck with a fatal disease. When the three come together for dinner it has all the makings of a lovely adult melodrama about loneliness, and the desire to connect and share our lives with someone… but we must add to the mix one otherworldly piece of information: Wesley could be a vampire.” Horror Fuel: “Where did the idea come from for your
