Blu-ray Review: Alone in the Dark (1982)

Dan Potter (The A-Team‘s Howlin’ Mad Murdock himself, Dwight Schultz in a milquetoast turn) has recently taken a job as a doctor in Dr. Leo Bain’s (Halloween‘s Donald Pleasence) unorthodox lunatic asylum called the Haven. Speaking of the ol’ Haven, those hallowed halls are also home to some real Grade-A psychos: deranged army vet Frank (Jack Palance), church burner Byron “Preacher” Sutcliff (Martin Landau), mountain-sized pedo Ronald (The Running Man‘s opera-singing one man E.L.O.; Dynamo, Erland van Lidth), and selfie-adverse serial killer nicknamed “the Bleeder” (Phillip Clark, who’s character dons a hockey mask to do his dirty dealings… just like Jason Voorhees did in Friday the 13th: Part 3-D, released just a few months earlier…but who was first is a topic of debate); a qwazy quartet that believe Potter murdered their former doctor (whom they all loved), but who in truth took another job. As fate would have it, a major power outage looms in Potter’s future, and the resulting

Horror Games That Need A High Definition Remake

Many games in recent times have been given an HD reboot to be compatible with more recent gamming consoles, Resident Evil (Biohazard) has been given a complete makeover with an all new HD game called Resident Evil (Biohazard) HD Remaster that’s available on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. This would be the game’s second makeover so I thought why stop with this game? There are some horror games in the past that I think are due for an “HD Remaster” makeover too. So here are a few games that I feel deserve a reboot into the HD age in no particular order. Alone in the Dark (PC, 1992) There is a game by the same title that was made in 2008 that’s part of the long game series, I’m talking about the original game that you played on DOS in the 90’s (real 90’s kids know this!) the game is actually considered the first survival horror game to be

The Assassination of Tara Reid

Tara Reid: Target “How many more years are [the media] going to pick on me? There’re other new young bad girls. Move on to someone else.” – Tara Reid Putting it on the table…why Tara Reid? “But I keep working. I keep moving,” she said. “I’m not going to let these people not let me work because I’m trying to make a living. I’m happy with what I look like. I don’t care what people say about it. Sometimes the people it hurts a lot more is someone like my mom. [Haters] forget you’re someone’s daughter, you’re someone’s sister.”[1] SOURCE What did Tara Reid do to make people hate her? In the recent wake of sexual allegations against a number of big name male stars and executives, why does this actress continue to get a public drubbing? Has she harmed someone? Killed someone? Abused someone in any way shape or form? “The media is trying to kill my daughter.” Tara

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Lin Shaye

Hello again, my Little Monsters. How lovely it is for you all to join me again on this Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday. As you can see the Woman of Horror we honor today is the wonderful Lin Shaye. This Detroit, MI native caught the acting bug when she attended the University of Michigan, where she was an Art Major. During her time there, Lin also appeared in as many dramatic productions as she could. After she completed her degree at Michigan, Lin moved to New York to enroll at Columbia University and also pursue an acting career on the stage. She would find roles off Broadway and OFF off Broadway, and would also earn herself a Master of Fine Arts in acting from Columbia. In 1975 Lin would start her career as a whore. WHOA, calm down. I’m not slut shaming or casting insults at her. Lin’s first listed credit was literally as a “whore” in the movie Hester
