An Interview With Film And TV Composer And Musician Charlie Clouser

One of the most important parts of a film is its score and soundtrack. Even if you don’t realize it, the music is there to guide you through the movie and influence your mood, the setting, and the tone of the movie. Recently, I had the opportunity to interview a fantastic composer, musician, and Grammy nominee Charlie Clouser who has composed a long list of scores for television, film, and games including for the ‘Saw’ franchise, ‘Wayward Pines’, and the iconic opening score of ‘American Horror Story’. You may recognize Clouser for his work as a musician. He was one of the founding members of Nine Inch Nails. Clouser still works in the music industry today, creating remixes for musicians like Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie’s band White Zombie. Horror Fuel: “You have been involved with various roles in the music industry for a while. How old were you when you began playing music and what was your first instrument?”

American Horror Story Premieres Wednesday (9/14) Here’s What We Know

After months of speculation, teaser and ambiguous comments from the cast, director and writers of ‘American Horror Story’, we will finally learn Wednesday (9/14) what the official theme of season 6 is. Of course we are pretty sure it is ‘The Mist’, thanks to the description printed in TV Guide. As for the 25 teasers that have been released only one is real, according to showrunner Ryan Murphy, and only one is titled “The Mist”. There were leaked TMZ photos revealing a tree with the word “CROATOAN’ carved into it from the AHS set. “CROATOAN” is the only clue left in the real life mystery of 117 people’s disappearance in 1590 from Roanoke. We had the photo but were asked to take it down due to spoilers. We can however show you a piece of art from the 1590’s depicting the real event. You can learn more about the Roanoke mystery here. The question is, were the leaked photos part

Ode to 80’s Horror: A Nightmare on Elm Street

In honor of Halloween approaching (everyone’s favorite holiday) and whispers of the second remake happening (Kevin Bacon, anyone?) this #Odeto80s is on that 1986 Wes Craven classic: A Nightmare on Elm Street. WHERE IT CAME FROM: Wes Craven had already had horror movie success when he read a series of disturbing articles in the newspaper: “It was a series of articles in the LA Times, three small articles about men from South East Asia, who were from immigrant families and had died in the middle of nightmares—and the paper never correlated them, never said, ‘Hey, we’ve had another story like this.” Crave took this horrifying premise and paired it with his own terrifying childhood memory of a creepy man that had come to his window , and put a red and green striped sweater on it to create Freddy Krueger. WHY WE LOVE IT: Nightmare is arguably Craven’s greatest work, leaving the audience feel unsafe: even in their sleep. Aside

Did TV Guide Just Reveal The Theme Of American Horror Story Season 6?

After months of speculation, it seems the theme of season 6 of ‘American Horror Story’ has possibly been revealed by TV Guide. The guide says that theme is….drum roll….. ‘American Horror Story: The Mist’. No one from ‘American Horror Story’ has actually confirmed the theme at this time. But TV Guide is pretty reliable. When it comes to the flood of teasers released, FX CEO John Landgraf told IndieWire a few weeks ago that “One is accurate; all the rest are misdirect.” He continued on to say, “We decided, Ryan [Murphy] and I and [marketing president] Stephanie Gibbons, that it would be really fun this year..to keep it a mystery. There is a theme and a setting and a place and time, but we’re not going to reveal it.” Out of all the teasers there is only one titled ‘The Mist’, and this is it: Lady Gaga will be returning for the season, along with Angela Bassett, Lily Rabe, Kathy
