Bruce Campbell Reveals Name And Director Of New ‘Evil Dead’ Movie

Back in August of 2018 Bruce Campbell, known for his iconic role as Ashley “Ash” Williams, announced to broken-hearted fans that he was hanging up his chainsaw and retiring Ash. Since then there have been rumblings that the franchise had life left in it yet. Today, we can report not only that a movie is indeed in the works, but also the title and some plot details shared by Empire in the upcoming July issue. During an interview, Campbell reveals the first details of Evil Dead Now. Sam Raimi, who wrote and directed the original 1981 film, has handpicked Lee Cronin to both write and direct the new movie. It’s called Evil Dead Now. Sam handpicked Lee – he did a cool movie called The Hole in the Ground. We’re going to get that sucker out as soon as practical.” Like Fede Alvarez’s 2013 Evil Dead, Campbell will not appear in Evil Dead Now. From this point forward, they kind

Bruce Campbell Reveals New ‘Evil Dead’ May Begin Filming In 2020

Just because Bruce Campbell (interview) has retired from his role as Ash Williams doesn’t mean that we have seen the last of the Evil Dead franchise. It was announced several months ago that a new Evil Dead movie is in the works, one that will see a still-unnamed young unnamed filmmaker in the director’s chair. During a Q&A at the Fan Expo in Vancouver last weekend Campbell teased that the new installment may begin filming this year. We’re producing more Evil Dead movies. Maybe one later this year. Sam Raimi has hand picked the next guy to make another creepy Evil Dead. It just won’t have Ash. Yeah, it’s cool. There are more stories to tell, sir.” While we all wish Campbell would come out of retirement, I am happy to see a new Evil Dead movie. I do wonder if it is a true sequel or if it will more resemble the “Ash vs Evil Dead” series or Fede

Bruce Campbell Talks Life After Ash And Much More In An Interview

Bruce Campbell, that’s a name every horror fan knows. The writer/actor/director/producer has been involved in so many iconic films and series. One of the jewels in his crown is The Evil Dead franchise in which he plays the unforgettable character Ashley “Ash” Williams. His “Ash vs Evil Dead” series premiered back in 2015 on Starz, giving us three seasons of Ash, along with his deadite fighting sidekicks Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) and Pablo (Ray Santiago) as well as the sometimes evil Ruby (Lucy Lawless). Fans were heartbroken to learn earlier this year that “Ash vs Evil Dead” wouldn’t return for a fourth season. Soon Bruce announced that Ash had been permanently retired, leaving fans to wonder what was next for the one-of-a-kind, suave, badass. When I had the opportunity to talk with Bruce I jumped at the chance (and with excitement) to find out what is next for our favorite leading man and ask a few questions that I’ve always wanted

We Say Goodbye To Ash After Finale Episode Of ‘Ash VS. Evil Dead’

Last Sunday night, fans were left depressed as the final episode of “Ash vs. Evil Dead” aired, knowing that it was it the last time we would see Ash Williams in action. Bruce Campbell, who has played Ash in both films and the series since Evil Dead premiered back in 1981, has confirmed that the character is officially retired. “Ash vs Evil Dead” ended on a happy note, with Ash waking up in the future, after beating the giant Kandarian demon which he killed with a tank. Much of the world had been destroyed by deadites. He climbed into his modified Delta 88 along with his new companion and drives off into the new world. The ending was left open because at the time they had no idea that the series would be canceled. We were left wondering about the fate of Kelly, Pablo, and Brandy who Ash said goodbye to in an emotional scene before the big battle. A

Bruce Campbell Speaks Out About Ash’s Fate

Just days after Starz announced it had cut down “Ash vs Evil Dead“, one of our favorite series, Ash himself, Bruce Campbell, had a few words for fans and a statement about the future Ashley “Ash” Williams. According to Campbell, after Sunday, April 29th’s season finale we will say our final farewell the suave, chainsaw-handed character we fell in love with in Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead back in 1981. There is an article from Bloody-Disgusting with instructions on how to send Starz a message that we want the big guy back, but Campbell has since made it known in no uncertain terms that Ash is officially retired. But, you can’t blame fans for trying. Big props to fans for the effort, but I’m retired as Ash. #timetofrysomeotherfish https://t.co/Di1aeBV0dl — Bruce Campbell (@GroovyBruce) April 23, 2018 No one will ever fill those groovy’s shoes. Goodbye Ash, we’re going to miss you!

Bruce Campbell posted a message shortly ago via his Twitter account: Ash Vs Evil Dead has been the ride of a lifetime. Ash Williams was the role of a lifetime. I will always be grateful to Starz, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and our tireless fans for the opportunity to revisit the franchise that launched our careers. Thank you! 😎 pic.twitter.com/oNmTopS1Ab — Bruce Campbell (@GroovyBruce) April 20, 2018 This will be the last season for “Ash vs Evil Dead”. It breaks our hearts to know we will soon say goodbye to Campbell’s Ash Williams, Pablo (Ray Santiago), Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo), Ash’s daughter Brandy (Arielle Carver-O’Neill), and that demonic Ruby (Lucy Lawless). The season finale on April 29 at p.m. will be the show’s last episode. That
