True Crime Docuseries “No One Saw A Thing” Debuts On Sundance

In 1981, after years of intimidation and brutality, the town bully Ken Rex McElroy is gun downed in broad daylight in front of 60 witnesses in the small town of Skidmore, Missouri, but no one saw a thing or at least that’s what they claim to this very day. Blumhouse’s docuseries “No One Saw A Thing” delves into the case that garnered international attention and remains one of the most interesting true-crime mysteries today. Award-winning Israeli filmmaker Avi Belkin (Mike Wallace Is Here, Sundance 2019 Premiere) directs and serves as executive producer of the six-episode series, which is also executive produced by Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, and Marci Wiseman and co-executive produced by Mary Lisio as part of Blumhouse Television. Delirio’s Rafael Marmor and Christopher Leggett (Hunting ISIS, Honey Boy, Mike Wallace Is Here) also serve as executive producers. The six-episode series “No One Saw A Thing” is now available on the Sundance Channel.

Blumhouse’s Zombie Series “Betaal” Premieres This Weekend On Netflix

Blumhouse continues to fuel horror fan’s nightmares. The genre powerhouse will unleash their new zombie action series “Betaal” this weekend on Netflix. Set in a remote village, which quickly becomes the arena of a breathless battle when a two-century-old East India Company Colonel, infected with the Betaal’s curse, and his battalion of blood-thirsty zombie redcoats are released from their tomb – attacking anything with a pulse. With the Counter Insurgency Police Department (CIPD) forces pitted against the undead army, hapless civilians are trapped in a gripping, edge-of-your-seat conflict. The series features 4 50-minute episodes and stars Vineet Kumar Singh, Suchitra Pillai, Aahana Kumra, Jeetendra Joshi, Jatin Goswami, Manjiri Pupala, and Syna Anand. Jamie Lee Curtis Teams Up With Blumhouse To Direct ‘Mother Nature’

Scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis continues to kick ass in the ongoing Halloween franchise, but now she’s making her way into the director’s chair for Mother Nature. Curtis is teaming up with Blumhouse for the climate change horror film which she will both co-write and direct. Deadline notes that the film Curtis and her label Comet Pictures is part of a three-year first-look deal that includes both movies and TV projects. I’m 61 and my motto now is: ‘If not now, when, if not me who?’ Curtis said in a statement. “I’m excited to have a creative home to explore my own ideas and others. Jason and his team have made feel welcome. Comet is ready to bring these stories to screen life.” Curtis will co-write Mother Nature along with Comet’s Head of Film and TV Development Russell Goldman.

Blumhouse Television Teams Up With NBC For True Crime Series “The Thing About Pam”

Blumhouse Television is teaming up with NBC New Studios on a new scripted true crime series titled “The Thing About Pam,” based on the notorious Pam Hupp case. It will mark the first project of the new partnership announced earlier this year. Blumhouse Television, an independent studio, will develop and produce the series of new shows based on content featured from the series “Dateline.” In 2011, Betsy Faria was stabbed 55 times. While he pleaded his innocence, Betsy’s husband Russ Faria was charged and sentenced for the crime in 2013, thanks in part to the testimony of Pamela Hupp. In 2015 he was exonerated after evidence surfaced that he had been set up by Happ. It seems Hupp had taken out a life insurance policy on Betsy in the amount of $150, 000. The case was covered by “Dateline” in five episodes, but the corruption doesn’t stop there. Hupp was investigated for her connection with her own mother’s death. And

Movie Review: Fantasy Island (2020)

Fantasy Island begins exactly like any episode of it’s late ’70s boob-tube classic namesake did; namely a plane arrives on a gorgeous tropical island filled with folks looking to have their greatest wish granted by the island’s suave owner Mr. Roarke (Michael Peña stepping in for the late Ricardo Montalban) via… well, who the fuck knows… but he can do it, or rather the island can, and once a fantasy starts you must not end it. The fantasies are pretty standard on their surface level; a non-stop sex and drug fueled party, a second chance at happiness, a chance to be a soldier (okay, that’s a bit out of left fuckin’ field, but there’s another angle present that makes it reasonable), and revenge against a horrendous childhood bully… except where on the original show things usually didn’t end up balls deep in the horror biz, here that is exactly what happens! ‘Invisible Man’ Director Leigh Whannell Signs Deal With Blumhouse

If you’re a true horror fan then you will recognize the name of Leigh Whannell, the writer-director-actor who co-created the Saw franchise, the Insidious franchise and the films Cooties, Upgrade, and most recently directed The Invisible Man. Whannell has just signed an over deal with Blumhouse for the next two years projects, some films, some series. The deal will require Whannell to write, direct, and produce, Deadline is reporting. Jason Blum, Blumhouse CEO and founder, praised Whannell. “Leigh creates movies which not only build franchises but fundamentally change the landscape of their genre. After he and James Wan made Saw, it launched dozens of copycats. Their work with Blumhouse on Insidious founded not just a franchise but dozens of classical proscenium PG-13 supernatural horror films. Dark Secrets Come To Light In The Second Season Of Blumhouse’s “Sacred Lies” (Trailer)

The second season of Blumhouse’s anthology series “Sacred Lives” is gearing up to premiere on Facebook Watch and we’ve got the new trailer. “Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones” draws inspiration from the stories of the Brothers Grimm and real-life murder cases. This season follows Elsie (Jordan Alexander) as she searches for the family she never knew after being abandoned as a child. The search leads her to her father, Peter (Ryan Kwanten), an inmate who may be guilty of more than the crimes he’s currently incarcerated for and Harper (Juliette Lewis), a telemarketer turned arm-chair detective with an obsessive hobby of searching for unidentified murder victims. Kristin Bauer will recur as Elsie’s foster mother, Shannon. The series is produced by Blumhouse Television. Thankfully he is joined by Madeleine (Kristine Froseth); a young woman raised on the island by her explorer-type parents. This lethal lady has survival skills and is good with a bow and arrow… but, her mother is not what she seems, and Maddie may have a secret or two of her own.
