Elizabeth Banks Set to Direct And Star In Universal’s ‘The Invisible Woman’

A new version of The Invisible Woman, is currently in development over at Universal Pictures with Elizabeth Banks (Brightburn) set to direct and star. Banks pitched the film based on Universal’s original The Invisible Woman, released in 1940, which starred Virginia Bruce. She will also be serving as a producer alongside her husband Max Handleman under their Brownstone Productions banner. There is no word if The Invisible woman will be a remake, reboot, or something entirely new. The original film centers on “an attractive model with an ulterior motive volunteer as a guinea pig for an invisibility machine.” News about the project comes three months ahead of the premiere of Universal and Blumhouse’s The Invisible Man, starring Elizabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”). The Invisible Man arrives in theaters on February 28, 2020.

Movie Review: Brightburn

If you are like me, you’ve been eagerly awaiting James Gunn’s genre-crossing antihero movie Brightburn. I snagged my copy yesterday, and let me tell you, it lives up to the hype. Holy hell, this movie was good, I mean, like make your jaw drop good. It’s dark, gritty and just f*cking fantastic all the way around. And the gore, Jesus, it was stomach-turning. That eye scene was so incredibly well shot! But don’t get me wrong, it’s not all about the blood and gore it’s about the family. And it will make your run a gambit of emotions from pity, sadness, shock, and heartbreak before it goes nuclear and turns disturbing and downright scary. By the end of the movie, you will be begging for more (hint, hint James Gunn, we want a sequel). At the heart of this film is a family, played by David Denman and Elizabeth Banks. After the trailer for the upcoming horror film Brightburn is still lingering in people’s minds and the growing anticipation of The New Mutants release, there’s something that can’t be ignored. In the current age of Superhero movies, these two are unique as they’re clearly horror films told in their own unique ways. The New Mutants, based on the comic series of the same name follows five young individuals who are being kept in a secret facility where they begin to learn that they have the “X-Gene”. While trying to understand their situation, the mutants experience terrifying visions that involve their past.
