DVD Review: Hunter’s Moon (2020)

Three teenage girls are left alone in their parent’s new rural home, a mansion once owned by a serial killer, for the night after said parents leave town. Naturally these comely gals commence to throwin’ a shindig with some local yokel bad boys… but these dudes have some other intentions than merely partying down… sinister intentions. Anyway, push comes to shove, and folks start turning up missing, because as fate and horror movie tropes would have it; a werewolf stalks the orchard… and juvenile delinquents, their victims… even the town sheriff may not have the stones to survive the night! Hunter’s Moon is one odd-ass flick boils n’ ghouls. It starts of as a home invasion flick, dove-tails into a creature feature… and then drops some eleventh hour surprises in that make this a fun lil’ trip into the hairier side of the ol’ horror biz! While all of the cast is excellent (and with some genre legends such as

DVD Review: Ghost Killers vs Bloody Mary (2018)

The local school principal is eager to end the rumors that accidents that have befallen the student body as of late are the result of supernatural static comin’ straight from everybody’s fav monstrous mirror maiden; Bloody Mary! To that end he hires The Ghoulbusters (yes, they are called out on the name and their eerily similar logo); a squad of local ghost hunters (who fake all of their encounters ‘natch) hoping to score a shit-hot TV deal… and let’s not beat around the bush; these folks are pretty inept… some downright stupid in fact. Anyway, our faux-heroes totally release that dread dame from her looking-glass prison and soon she engages in a bloodbath the ‘busters’ are ill-equipped to handle! Will they survive the night and end Mary’s revoltin’ reign or will they end up the next pile of gory goo splattered all over the halls of that insane institution?!! Ghost Killers vs Bloody Mary is one hell of a great

DVD Review: Little Joe (2019)

Alice (Emily Beecham) toils away breeding plants packed full of good ol’ genetic engineering that her company hopes to sell for a tidy profit along with her co-worker Chris (Ben Wishlaw). One of their major finds is a plant that releases a scent that stimulates happiness in people’s brains. I’m sure nothing wrong will happen involving that experiment… Something goes wrong with that experiment, and soon the plant, dubbed ‘Little Joe’, subtly changes everyone that breathes it’s pollen so that they are happy as clams as intended, but they give zero shits about the outside world and anyone not under Joe’s sway. Will anyone escape the assimilation to happy town, or will the world become strung out on that sweet, sweet Joe? Little Joe is one odd lil’ flick boils n’ ghouls! For starters this is a rather low key, detached affair, a style choice that accentuates the fact that the only way the world can be happy is through

Flash forward, and our heroine is incarcerated and forced to participate in a felonious fight club with a fellow inmate (Danielle Donahue) which goes over like fart in a submarine, and the duo are shipped off to a private island containing bears, sharks, and mutant zombies, as they so often do, right cats n’ creeps? Anyhow, on said island, a small team of scientists are conducting all manner of eerie experiments and at the center of it all is our friendly neighborhood Psycho Mom, who’s inner demon can leap out and posses the local fauna (including a shark ‘natch) and populace… so you know things are going to go to hell (for some it could be literally) as science and the supernatural clash on the island

DVD Review: Zombie Rampage 2 (2018)

In the middle of one of them there zombie apocalypses (a more common occurrence than one would believe if our beloved horror biz is to be believed), a rag-tag group of survivors who’s ranks include, but are not limited to: a dude lookin’ straight out of the ’70s, a woman who continuously shoves people’s faces into her breasts, a rather fab zombie exterminator, and a school girl with a baseball bat. The long and the short of it is, these misfits have to band together and form a fighting force capable of withstanding this horrific outbreak of living dead… so, there probably as good as fucked… Make no mistake, Zombie Rampage 2 is an ultra-low budget affair, so you can take any expectations of Hollywood gloss, put in a box, and shove it right up your arcane ass. Now, as you lot know; that is aces with yours cruelly, and what this fright flick lacks in polish it makes up

DVD Review: Killer Weekend

A group of friends, fairly large idiots one and all, decide to partake in a paint ball/survival game fracas where the staff pretend to be the living dead. Unfortunately for a member of said staff, one of the blokes gets a little too into the goings-on and ends up stabbed to death (accidentally) by our gang of goofs. This of course causes our heroes to hatch a screwy plan to hide what they’ve done from the rest off the staff… and hopefully that goes well because they are rather unhinged en masse! Let’s waste no time diving into the mixed bag that is Killer Weekend. While amusing at times, most of the characters on display here are pretty interchangable, and at times pretty unlikable, which is definitely a bit of a minus in a horror comedy where you are supposed to sympathize with the dire straits the characters find themselves in. To be fair, when they are “on” they are

Goretastic Horror-Comedy ‘Snatchers’ Now Out On Blu-Ray

Snatchers which we called “a goretastic horror-comedy that you need to see,” in our five-star review, has just been unleashed on Blu-ray™ and DVD. Aliens meets Mean Girls in this delightfully deranged film about a status-obsessed high school teenager who loses her virginity and finds herself pregnant the next day…with an alien! Senior year is going to rule! Thanks to her relationship with clueless hunk Skyler, Sara is totally in with the cool girls. But Skyler contracted an extraterrestrial bug during his summer vacation. After just one night together, Sara discovers she’s Nine. Months. Pregnant. Desperate to keep her condition on the DL, she turns to the only person she can trust: her nerdy ex-bestie, Hayley. The girls soon realize this alien problem is only just the beginning. Aliens had best beware in this hilarious comedy filled with action and tongue-in-cheek teen spirit. Snatchers stars Mary Nepi (Not Cool) as Sara, Gabrielle Elyse (Nickelodeon’s “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn,” “The

Carlee ( Sadie Katz who co-wrote the film along with director Minh Collins) decides gettin’ hitched ain’t her bag (mainly because her future beau is a D-bag) and ditches her wedding along with a cadre of bridesmaids. Their flight takes them waaaay off the beaten path and they find themselves at a motor inn run by a cult comprised of some of those creepy mother fuckin’ clowns that are all the rage with Irish women between the ages of 21 and 37 named Aoibhinn. Anyway, those damn clowns have had a firm grip on the entire territory for centuries, and now they are making these ladies’ day hell six ways to Sunday! Now which, if any, of our comely heroines will survive these grease paint ghouls… So what works, what doesn’t, and is Clown Fear worth your time? Glad you mother fuckers asked… even if you didn’t.
