Movie Review: Inheritance (2017)

It’s a banner day for ol’ Ryan (Chase Joliet); he’s just out sawing some wood (as one does) when a man informs him he has inherited a house from his biological father…a dude he thought bit the big one multiple years ago. Before long Ryan, with his pregnant fiance in tow, heads out to the bucolic coastal town and takes up residence in the spacious abode. Once there, R-man begins a slow slide down the slippery slope of going batshit insane as he begins to unravel his family’s dark history and the blight upon the land on which the mansion sits. Packed with equal parts family drama and slow burn horror, Inheritance (the debut feature for Director Tyler Savage) is a well paced decent into madness and implied supernatural shenanigans. While the story is definitely filled with well worn fright flick tropes (the inheritance of a “haunted house”, dark family secrets, ghostly hallucinations…hell even that hoary ol’ chestnut the “Indian

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the movie until now, during a recent interview with Digital Trends, Pegg revealed that a subterranean monster is at the center of the story, directed by Crispian Mills. It’s going to be really fun. It’s a sort of a horror comedy,” Pegg told the site. “It felt like the right thing for Nick and I to have as our first collaboration with Stolen Picture. It’s about a private school in the U.K. which sells off parts of its land to a fracking company, and the fracking company then unleashes a subterranean monster that terrorizes the school.
