Babadook Directer Teaming With Guillermo Del Toro On Upcoming Horror Film

While out promoting her new film The Nightingale at Sundance, Jennifer Kent revealed that she is currently developing a new project with Guillermo del Toro. The Babadook director has now confirmed that the secret project is indeed a horror film. I’m not being secretive but I’m not sure I can talk about it. It’s something scary and I really admire him and his work. I think he’s a true artist so I’m excited to know more. We’re in early stages of that.” Kent told Bloody-Disgusting. While we are waiting for more details, Kent is busy working on a TV series titled “Tiptree” based on sci-fi author James Tiptree Jr. aka Alice B. A Radio Station Is Under Attack In ‘Feedback’ – From The Producer Of ‘The Shallows’

From producer Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan, The Shallows) comes Feedback, directed by Pedro C. Alonso. Today we have the new trailer for the film set in an all-night radio station. In the film, “Jarvis Dolan (Eddie Marsan) is the star journalist of the successful London radio nightclub The Grim Reality. At the beginning of his program, some hooded macabre burst into the studio, taking control at gunpoint. They are there to bring to light a scandal that could be the end of Jarvis. Obliged to continue with the program, live, following the script of the assailants, the night will become a nightmare.” Paul Anderson, Ivana Baquero, and Richard Brake also star in the film co-written by Alonso and Alberto Marini. Feedback opens in theaters on March 1, 2019, in Spain with a U.S. release to follow.

“Stan Against Evil” Gets The Ax

We have terrible news. IFC has canceled one of their best series, the horror-comedy “Stan Against Evil“, after just three seasons. The series’ creator Dana Gould made the announcement during his recent podcast The Dana Gould Hour. While the show’s cancelation has officially been confirmed, there is still hope according to Gould there is a chance that another network may pick up the series. Stan Against Evil, I am sad to report, will not be returning for a fourth season,” Gould stated. “It had a great run of three seasons. It’s not coming back. Will it show up in some other form on some other network someday? Maybe. Jacob Johnston Makes His Directorial Debut With ‘Dreamcatcher’

Writer-director Jacob Johnston‘s (Kadence) is making his feature debut with the thriller Dreamcatcher (no relation to Stephen King’s novel) and the film’s first cast members have just been announced. Zachary Gordon, Niki Koss, Olivia Sui, Elizabeth Posey, Emrhys Cooper, Blaine Kern III, and Travis Burns star, Deadline reports. “It’s an ensemble piece that follows a group who plan to avenge the mysterious death of their friend at a Music Festival, only to end up stalked by the same assailant.” Filming is set to begin this month for Dreamcatcher, produced by Krystal Vayda and Brandon Vayda who are producing for Quarzo Studios alongside Jacques Kurdian. Jamie Gallagher and Kristifor Cvjetic are co-producing.

“Doctor Who” Star Joins ‘Morbius’ Cast

Director Daniel Espinosa‘s (Life) film adaptation of the comic Morbius has added another cast member. News has come via Variety that “Doctor Who” actor Matt Smith has joined Jared Leto (Suicide Squad), and Adria Arjona (“True Detective”). The dark Spider-Man spin-off was created by Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane and debuted in Amazing Spider-Man #101. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless penned the script for the film. The film centers on Michael Morbius, a scientist who, while trying to find a cure for a rare blood disease, accidentally turning himself into a living vampire. He chooses to prey on criminals he deems unworthy to live to feed his blood lust.

‘The Strangers’ Director Bryan Bertino Set To Begin Production On ‘The Dark And The Wicked’

Bryan Bertino, the man behind The Strangers and most recently Mockingbird and the Monster, is in the director’s chair for The Dark and the Wicked, which he also wrote. In the film, two siblings are summoned back to the family farm, in the middle of nowhere, to await the inevitability of their father’s death. What initially appears to be a timeless ritual of loss and remembrance turns out to be something very different. Filming is set for Texas as early as February for The Dark and the Wicked, produced by Adrienne Biddle, Sonny Mallhi, and Kevin Matusow producing. Casting news should arrive soon according to Production Weekly.
