Avan Jogia Boards Zombieland 2

The long-awaited sequel to Zombieland is finally picking up speed. A few days ago we reported that Zoey Deutch has joined the cast which includes returning stars Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin. Today, we have more casting news, “Ghost Wars” and “Twisted” actor Avan Jogia has joined Zombieland 2. Jogia will be playing the role of Berkeley, a bad boy musician, the kind of guy you would dread your daughter dating, Deadline reports. This time around, the mayhem stretches across the country with our favorite zombie slayers facing new kinds of zombies that have evolved since we last saw the group. They will also have to deal with other survivors and growing pains within their little family. Ruben Fleischer is back in the director’s chair for the sequel written by the original film’s scribes, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who will also be executive producing. Gavin Polone will once again be producing. Filming is set to

Movie Review: Cannibals and Carpet Fitters (2017)

Cupid Carpets sends it’s biggest and brightest out to a remote country mansion where a huge carpeting job awaits. Since this is a horror site, you can guess this film has more on it’s mind than tacks n’ berber…and soon it is revealed the manse is home to a cannibalistic clan named the Hannings (and comprised of a loving Mom and her four ravenous, inbred sons). Will our heroes make it out of that arcane abode with their hides intact? Will they actually lay any carpet? Will you actually laugh at this horror comedy? As far as that last point is concerned, I can assure you that the laughs are plentiful in Cannibals and Carpet Fitters; a feat for which Writer Richard Lee O’Donnell and Director James Bushe should be lauded . While not every joke and jest hits the beastly bullseye, the majority do, and the comedic timing and chemistry among our characters, in particular main rug doctors Colin

Movie Review: Mandao of the Dead

Major league weird cat and heir to an award losing breakfast cereal “empire” Jay Mandao (Scott Dunn…who also wrote and directed the film) lives with his equally eccentric adult nephew Jackson (Sean McBride)…who sleeps in a tent within the apartment…yeah…Anyway, the night before Halloween, Jay has an out of body experience via astral projection which eventually leads our heroes to begin astral projecting slightly backwards through time to help a ghost avoid their murder. Absolute insanity ensues. Mandao of the Dead is one hell of a bizarre ride boils n’ ghouls. Everything from our off-kilter heroes…played with likable charm, even when Jay is being a tad on the gruff side and Jackson is being…Jackson, to the strange astral projection, time travel, and murder angles, and left-of-center humor all coalesce into a heady stew of engaging storytelling, solid world building, and just straight up fun. On the downside, the pacing of this film is equally as odd as the story itself.

The critic and crowd approved screwball comedy, meets slasher spoof Garden Party Massacre arrives this Spring. This is the second multiple award-winning film from writer and director Gregory Blair. This is also the second collaboration with SGL Entertainment – the slow-burn psychological thriller Deadly Revisions being the first. With laughs splattering all over the place, Garden Party Massacre is a fast-paced, wacky spoof in the vein of Shaun of the Dead and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. The fun begins when a friendly backyard gathering goes hilariously awry as an unexpected guest arrives. With a pickaxe. And an attitude. It’s a madcap brew of murder, mirth, and mayhem that critics have hailed as: “hilarious!” “brilliant!” and “a comedic romp!” The film has won over a dozen awards on the festival circuit and appeared on several Top Ten lists to date. Movie Review: Camp Death III in 2D (2018)

What is this? A parody of Friday the 13th Part III coming a scant 36 years after if it’s theatrical run? I think we both know I have to check this out…I mean it’s my job, so I kinda have to regardless, but you know what I mean…unless you don’t…fuck you, here’s a review of Camp Death III in 2D! Three years after the demise of masked madman Johann Van Damme (which involves a puppet to hilarious effect), Camp Crystal Meph is back in business as a rehabilitation center for psychos. Of course Johann doesn’t stay dead for long, and soon he’s stalking the camp grounds, murdering our card board cut-out characters with wild abandon (and the occasional candy bar). Writer/Director Matt Frame should be applauded for the glorious madness he has wrought with Camp Death III in 2D. This flick is wrong headed, intentionally cheap and oh-so very, very stupid, full of groans and guffaws in equal measure…yet still

Movie Review: Ugly Sweater Party (2018)

Pals Jody (Hunter Johnson) and Cliff (Charles Chudabala) are wicked excited to attend a Christmas party at a secluded cabin thrown by some hot n’ horny twins. Finding out at the 11th hour that the affair is one of those ugly sweater get-togethers, our dashing duo buy a sweater from a homeless man…but there’ s a catch; a decade previous murderer and Satanist Declan Rains (Sean Whalen) was beaten to death by John Q. Law while wearing the garment and he has vowed to return from the grave one day. Making matters worse, the camp that the event is being held at turns out to be a Bible camp and those aforementioned twins are now devout holy rollers. To add to all of that, ol’ Cliff becomes possessed by that sinister sweater and goes on a murder spree! With a premise like the one described above you probably think Ugly Sweater Party is going to be one hell of an

DVD Review: Snake Outta Compton (2018)

A snake falls from a plane over Compton and while it doesn’t survive the trip; it’s egg does and is retrieved by an uber-nerd, oh-so-subtly named Vurkel (Donte Essien), who subjects the newly hatched infant snake to experiments with a growth ray (which he intended to use on his cock) that causes it to grow uncontrollably (what else did you expect it to do dumbass). Meanwhile Vurkel’s roommates are an amateur hip hop crew that unfortunately have fallen afoul of an absolutely ridiculous criminal named Alley Jaws (Eric Paul Erickson) to whom they owe a considerable sum. Soon that snake gets free and goes on a rampage while our heroes make inept attempts to get the money owed to Jaws while dealing with the constant interference of testosterone infused crooked cop Denz (Joston Theney) and his completely idiotic rookie partner Ethan (Jon Kondelik) who arrest the group’s MC Cam (Ricky Flowers Jr.) and generally make life miserable for our protagonists.

Movie Review: President Evil (2018)

When I read the the title President Evil, I assumed this was going to be a flick about a zombie President…but from the opening credits I think we are in for some sort of Trump based parody of Halloween…because, yes…reasons…of course…okay… Anyway, our Trump surrogate “David” goes on a kill spree as a youth and gets locked up in a sanitarium. He soon escapes and…look; it’s Halloween with “The Donald”, just like I said…there’s countless “jokes” that reference the current disappointing shit storm our country has become…and all of it is instantly dated which only hurts the film’s re-watchability…I don’t even know how to review this thing… In the plus column; the cast is game for the satire at hand, and the fact that the filmmakers have a sense of social conscience, as well as an honest appreciation of Carpenter’s slasher classic is never in doubt…plus the film is shot and mixed well. In the negative column; the humor is
