‘Unbreakable’ Sequel ‘Glass’ Release Official Plot Synopsis Revealed

Perhaps the biggest twist of Split (other than that M. Night Shamalama-ding-dong finally released another decent film) is how it’s a sequel too 2000 superhero film Unbreakable. But not that the secrets out, a third film, named Glass, the title of Samuel L. Jackson’s villain, is officially in the works, with a plot synopsis giving us a hint where the movie might be heading. “Following the conclusion of SPLIT, GLASS finds David Dunn pursuing Kevin Wendell Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Elijah Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.” James McAvoy is confirmed to return as The Beast, with both Jackson and Willis reprising their roles from Unbreakable as well. Anya Taylor-Joy, the lone survivor of Split, will be returning as well, with Sarah Paulson completing the cast in as of yet unannounced role. There’s no denying Split was a significant step up

‘The Monster Project’ Creeping onto VOD August 18th

The most meta monster movie of the year is creeping it’s way onto VOD August 18th with the release of Victor Mathieu’s The Monster Project. Following a group of Youtubers seeking to expand their subscriber account. In the process they “post an online casting call for “real life” monsters to interview for their documentary. They find three participants and choose to film them sharing their haunted experiences in a mansion in the woods on the night of a lunar eclipse. The production suddenly turns into a nightmare when the participants transform into a real vampire, demon, and skinwalker (a type of harmful witch, according to Navajo legends, that can transform into any animal with the intent of harming people), forcing the unsuspecting crew to fight for their lives.” A trio of powerful monsters slaying annoying bloggers? Sounds like my kind of movie!

Something Terrifying Is Coming Down The Chimney with ‘Red Christmas’

For the so called “happiest time of the year” Christmas sure contains a lot of misery. From racist Uncle Gary drinking one too many Eggnogs, to your sisters brat kids driving their RC cars into your heels, for anyone who doesn’t have the happiest relationship with their family, Saint Nicks Day can make you feel like putting an icepick through your eye. But even the Manson family probably doesn’t have as fucked up a holiday as the poor saps in Red Christmas. Starring Dee Wallace, perhaps best known as Elliot’s mother in E.T. (but at her best as the tough as nails canine killer Donna Trenton in Cujo) Red Christmas follows “Diane, a matriarch presiding over the gathering of her squabbling grown children on Christmas Day. Tensions give way to terror when a deformed stranger appears at the door with vengeance on his mind. Diane must protect her family as limbs are severed and secrets are brought into the light.”

Ten Horror Films Actually In Need Of A Remake

The list of really good to near-perfect horror flicks that have been given the remake treatment in the last two decades is staggering, and doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, ‘The Fog’, ‘Halloween’, ‘Fright Night’, and so many others have been remade, reworked, or rebooted for a modern audience, nearly always resulting in a film inferior to the original. This abhorrent trend must stop, I say! Here are ten far-from-perfect movies that, unlike the aforementioned examples, could actually use a solid remake. ‘Ghoulies’ (1985) – One subgenre of horror sorely missing these days is the “small creature” movie. With the ‘Gremlins’, ‘Critters’, ‘Munchies’, and ‘Ghoulies’ series of films, creepy little creatures were everywhere in the 1980s and early 1990s. While ‘Gremlins’ is a masterpiece, and ‘Critters’ is really good, aside from cool creature design and an excellent poster that terrified many an eighties kid in the video store, ‘Ghoulies’ is pretty terrible,

‘It Comes At Night’ Review: Derivative Dystopia

While Get Out still has my vote for best horror film of the year so far, It Comes At Night get’s a more dubious accolade; most misleading marketing. Most of the movie is set during the day, the titular It is refers to a few nightmares experienced by one of the characters, and the doors slamming shut on their own and monsters seemingly hiding in the shadows aren’t in the film at all. As opposed to the similar titled It Follows S. T. D monster (is the D for demon?) there is no tangible threat referring to the films title. Sure, there are some extended nightmare scenes but to me thats kind of stretching it. No, instead this is one of those horror movies where the monster is actually us all along, men driven to madness through desperation and fear. Great, that’s fine, that’s dandy, but then please don’t fucking try and sell it to me as a monster flick.

RESIDENT EVIL Receives the Reboot Order Less Than Six Months After The Series Ends

Alongside The Matrix and Underworld, Resident Evil was one of the original “attractive people in leather kick ass” films, released all the way back in 2002, with an array of less and less impressive sequels following. The powers at be finally decided to put a bullet in the gassy franchises head with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter earlier this year, but apparently this series is a lot like the zombies that inhabit it; unable to die, and dangerous to the brains of anyone who gets to close. According to Bloody-Disgusting, a reboot is in the works less than six months after the The Final Chapter limped its way out of theaters. While there’s no denying these films make good money (300 Mil on a 40 Mil budget is a tidy profit for any movie, let alone horror), but I doubt I’m alone in wondering why. If I want to watch an attractive lady in leather, I’ll hire a dominatrix. Hell,

Make America Weird Again in WEIRD FOLK: A SUBURBAN HORROR COMEDY

2016 was an interesting year as far as horror went; if you wanted to be scared shitless all you had to do was watch the American election cycle. And filmmakers Scott Dunn and Gina Gomez might have just struck gold (or whatever color that rat wig worn by The Donald is) with Weird Folk, a film set on the eve of the 2016 election.
