Top 5 Memorable Monsters In Videogames

With Halloween being the scariest time of the year, there’s no better time to reflect on some of the scariest monsters in videogames. After all, what’s good horror without something tall and murderous to scare the pants off you? The Slender Man (Slender: The Eight Pages) An abnormally skinny figure fitted in a tailored black suit, The Slender Man looks almost human. That is until you see his face, a smooth white dome, completely lacking in features. And even though he has no eyes, victims say they could feel Slender Man staring right through them. Starting off as a series of photo shopped images on the popular website 4chan.org The Slender Man reached peak popularity with the release of the video game “Slender: The Eight Pages.” Tasking the player with exploring a dilapidated camp site in search of the titular documents, “Slender” is made more difficult, and more terrifying, by the presence of the ever more aggressive Slender Man. The World Of Urban Legends: Pinky Pinky

There are countless urban legends or myths that litter our lives with fear. Things like Bloody Mary of the phone call to the babysitter coming from inside the house. I love these tales. But I find that the most terrifying ones come from other countries. I don’t know if they are more terrifying because of the actual content or just because they seem new and are more unknown to us. Take, for instance, the South African urban legend of Pinky Pinky. This is a tale of a specter or spirit or monster who lives in the girls bathrooms at schools. As the tale goes, if you wear pink you upset the monster and he does all manner of foul things to the offending girls including injuries, murder and rape. The creature, according to the many sightings back in the early ‘90s, has one hand that is a paw and the other a claw. It resembles another African monster called Tokoloshe

New Poster Unveils Tiny Terrors From ‘Ghastlies’

From Gremlins and Ghoulies, to Critters, Troll, and The Gate, horror movies focused on gangs of mini-monsters were commonplace throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Unfortunately, little to no output has occurred in the subgenre in the decades since. Thankfully, Camp Motion Pictures plans on answering our prayers for pint-sized creeps with Ghastlies, out on DVD, Blu-Ray, and VOD this November. In the meantime, check out this new poster, released today on the official Ghastlies Facebook page. Directed by Brett Kelly (Kingdom of the Vampire, Attack of the Giant Leeches [2008]), and written by Chris Bavota (Minutes Past Midnight), Ghastlies is the tale of three ghoulish creatures accidentally unleashed from an underground bunker by four sorority girls while on a weekend getaway in the country. With the pure-eighties tagline “Pure evil. Bite Sized.”, the film (starring Kim Valentine) is set to be a lot of throwback fun.

Movie Review : Digging Up The Marrow (2014)

Adam Green, the man behind the ‘Hatchet’ franchise, has brought us ‘Digging Up The Marrow’. Green plays himself in this faux documentary about monsters. In ‘Digging Up The Marrow’, while filming a documentary about horror artists, Green is approached by a strange man with an even stranger story. William Dekker, is a man on a mission, he’s trying to find someone who can help him expose the truth, that monsters are real. Adam Green wrote and directed ‘Digging Up The Marrow’. Green, William Barratt, Josh Ethier, Rileah Vanderbilt, Kane Hodder, and most everyone in the film, play themselves, except for Ray Wise, who plays William Dekker. Wise also starred in many movies, including this year’s hottest supernatural movie ‘The Lazarus Effect’. The concept behind ‘Digging Up The Marrow’ was a fresh idea and a welcomed change from the same old movies ideas we see over and over. Green’s creativity truly showed with each monsters unique design. Ray Wise did a
