‘The Collected’ Has Been Abandoned

The highly anticipated new installment of The Collector franchise is dead, Dread Central reports. Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton have now revealed that The Collected has been abandoned after filing only eight days before Covid-19 brought production to a halt. And get this, according to the filmmaker the producers have been dodging their phone calls, which is pretty shitty. Dunstan tells The Thing With Two Heads podcast: “Well, we shot for eight days, and then it was shut down. I invested in this thing, I’d like to know what’s happening. We stopped hearing from anybody with the production. I know most of the props I brought there have been stolen. I would think that anybody else who invested in this movie that thinks that it’s happening, wouldn’t like to know what’s happening? .. All calls and emails have gone unanswered. When you can’t get anyone on the phone and you don’t hear anything, at this point, I’m really p*ssed off.“

Plot And Cast Revealed For Eli Roth’s ‘Borderlands’ Adaptation

Lionsgate announced today the Edgar Ramirez has joined the cast of Eli Roth‘s film adaptation of Gearbox Software’s bestselling video game Borderlands. Odds are, you’ll Ramirez who starred in films such as Gold, Point Break, Wrath of the Titans, and the 2014 supernatural horror Deliver Us from Evil. Ramirez will play the role of Atlas, a business titan and arms manufacturer, the most powerful person in the universe. Ramirez joins the previously announced cast that includes Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Haley Bennett, and Jack Black. Ahead of its release, we sat down with the oh-so-talented lead actress Rose Williams to discuss the film (which we gave a glowing review), its making, and its important messages. Shudder Movie Review: ‘The Power’ Is A Must See

Set in 1974 London, where Britain prepares for electrical blackouts, writer-director Corinna Faith‘s (The Innocents) haunting new film The Power introduces us to Rose Williams‘ character Val, a nurse on her first day working at the hospital. As they prepare for the lights to go out, Val’s anxiety begins to build we see the nurse walk the halls and tend to patients with only a lamp to light her way. It doesn’t take long for strange things to begin to happen. Blackouts and spells that contort her body to plague her as the hospital’s dark secret begin to come to light. The hospital setting is spooky enough all on its own but when the lights go out the tension builds and things escalate quickly. As if the setting, the dark, and the bad treatment Val experiences weren’t bad enough, paranormal activity manifests itself and seizure-like spells begin to take hold that leaves Val’s body contorted in unnatural ways, and she

There Is Something Dark And Deadly Lurking In The ‘Gaia’ Trailer

Decal, the newly formed home entertainment distributor from Neon and Bleecker Street, has obtained the North American rights to the South African horror-thriller Gaia, directed by Jaco Bouwer. Set to be released this summer, the film stars Monique Rockman, Carel Nel, Anthony Oseyemi, and Alex Van Dyk and made its debut at SXSW. The film centers on a park ranger on a surveillance mission in a primordial forest who encounters two survivalists living a post-apocalyptic lifestyle. The boy and his philosophical father seem to have their own religion and a mysterious relationship to nature. Tertius Kapp penned the screenplay and is producing the film along with Bouwer and Jorrie van der Walt, Deadline reports.

PTSD Turns Out To Be Possession In ‘The Refuge’ From ‘Die Hard 2’ Director

Renny Harlin is set to direct the new military-themed horror film The Refuge, by sci-fi, action writer Ben Sztajnkrycer, Deadline reports. The movie centers on “Sergeant Rick Pedroni, who comes home to his wife Kate changed and dangerous after suffering an attack by a mysterious force during combat in Afghanistan. Officials say her husband suffered a heavy brain injury, but Kate knows it is more than PTSD. Netflix has taken a gamble and released a new neon, badass, slot-themed poster for Zach Snyder’s (Dawn of the Dead, “Watchmen”) Army of the Dead, and it’s killer! In the movie, Dave Bautista and his crew of mercenaries take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantine zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted. TWD’s Steven Yeun Joins Jordan Peele’s Secret Horror Movie

Hot off the heels of his Oscar nomination for Minari, Steven Yeun (“The Walking Dead”, Mayhem) has entered negotiations to star in Jordan Peel’s upcoming horror movie, Deadline reports. Yeun will star alongside Keke Palmer (“Scream”) and Get Out‘s Daniel Kaluuya. While most of the details and plot are still being kept secret, we’ve heard that Peele is aiming for the movie to be “scarier than both Get Out and Us.” We also know that Peele both wrote the script and will direct, as well as produce the film under his Monkeypaw Productions banner. The still-untitled movie is set to arrive on July 22, 2022. We’ll keep you posted.
