Everything We Know About Netflix’s Upcoming “Resident Evil” Series

After years of rumors, it has been officially confirmed that Netflix is bringing fans the next installment of the Resident Evil franchise, this time in the form of a series. The original series, based on the Capcoom game of the same name. While little is known about the series we do know that the series will expand on the existing mythology. It will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world after the T-Virus. No cast members have been announced at this point and the series has yet to begin production. But it has entered development. We can probably expect to see the “Resident Evil” series sometime in late 2020 or in 2021.

Netflix Announces New Horror Anthology ‘Ghost Stories”

Indian filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar, the team behind Netflix’s “Lust Stories” are teaming up once again for the stream giant’s new horror anthology series “Ghost Stories” which will feature four short horror films, THR reports. While the details of the series haven’t been revealed, we do know that “the four films will be thematically connected to each other and culminate in a hair-raising end.” Production is set to kick off this month. “Ghost Stories” is produced by RSVP Films in association with Ashi Dua of Flying Unicorn Entertainment.

Neil Gaiman’s Sandman Coming To Netflix As New Series

Neil Gaiman‘s comic Sandman is finally headed being adapted for a live-action TV series from Netflix and Warner Bros. and it’s being described as the most expensive series they have ever attempted. Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman, Grey’s Anatomy) will both write and serve as showrunner for the series. Neil Gaiman will executive produce along with David Goyer. The long-running horror-fantasy comic centers on Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, and the Endless, a powerful group of siblings that includes Death, Destiny, Despair, Destruction, Delirium, and Desire. Multiple times the comic has been set to be adapted into features films, but each time it failed to come together.

Netflix’s Sci-fi Thriller ‘I Am Mother’ Premieres This June

In the wake of humanity’s extinction, a teenage girl is raised by a robot designed to repopulate the earth. But their unique bond is threatened when an inexplicable stranger arrives with alarming news in the Netflix sci-fi thriller I Am Mother, arriving this June. Starring Clara Rugaard, Rose Byrne, and Hilary Swank, I Am Mother centers on a teenage girl (Rugaard), who is the first of a new generation of humans to be raised by Mother (Byrne), a robot designed to repopulate the earth after the extinction of humankind. But the pair’s unique relationship is threatened when an injured stranger (Swank) arrives with news that calls into question everything Daughter has been told about the outside world and her Mother’s intentions. Kill Bill actress Uma Thurman is headlining Netflix’s latest horror project, the 10-episode series “Chambers” that puts a supernatural spin on the world of organ donors. Creep’s Patrick Brice Will Direct Netflix’s ‘There’s Someone Inside Your House’

Patrick Brice had great success with his Netflix horror films Creep and Creep 2. Recently Brice teased that he’s attached to another horror film which Deadline confirmed today. Brice will be directing Netflix’s There’s Someone Inside Your House, based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Stephanie Perkins which was adapted by Henry Gayden (Shazam!). Slated to begin production this fall, ” the film is described as a combination of two different beloved teenage genres: the slashers that came to prominence in the ’80s and ’90s and the character-driven coming of age classics a la John Hughes’ films and American Graffiti.” Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps and James Wan’s Atomic Monster are producing.

Bruce Campbell Will Lend His Voice To Netflix’s New Series ‘The Last Kids On Earth’

Netflix is adapting the bestselling books The Last Kids on Earth for a new animated series. The voice cast has just been announced and it features horror icon, Bruce Campbell (interview)! Campbell will star alongside Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, Catherine O’Hara, Keith David, Garland Whitt, Montse Hernadez, and Charles Demers, with Nick Wolfhard voicing the main character Jack Sullivan. The books follow “13-year-old Jack Sullivan and a band of suburban middle schoolers who live in a decked-out tree house, play video games, gorge themselves on candy, and battle zombies in the aftermath of the monster apocalypse. It’s a hilarious series filled with wisecracking kids, crazy gadgets, a lifetime supply of zombies and giant-sized monsters.” Developed by Atomic Cartoons, the animated series is set to premiere later this year. Max Brallier, who wrote the books not only created the series but will also serve as executive producer, with Scott Peterson serving as showrunner.
