Netflix Review: Eli (2019)

Netflix continues to turn out horror films that impress. One of the latest is director Ciarán Foy’s Eli, a tale about a young boy suffering from an extreme autoimmune disorder that makes him allergic to the world, but not all is what it seems. As his parents take him for a treatment meant to cure him, all hell breaks loose as ghosts begin to haunt him. This film is cleaver and will have you guessing the entire time as you sit on the edge of your seat. Just when you think you know what’s going on, a giant twist throws everything out the window. With a unique story, which is rare these days, Eli is entertaining and spooky as hell. I’ll be honest, one reason I found Eli so interesting is that I identify with Eli because the young boy, played by Charlie Shotwell, is plagued by an autoimmune disorder. Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Sandman’ Adaptation Finds A Home At Netflix

After multiple false starts, the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s “The Sandman” is finally a go and has been acquired by streaming giant Netflix, in what is being called a “massive” deal with Warner Bros. The adaptation comes 30 years after Gaiman’s first comic in the 75 issue collection was published, in which Morpheus wakes up after being in captivity for 70 years. Gaiman is penning the first episode of the series along with showrunner David S. Goyer, who was also behind the “Good Omens” adaptation. The Netflix series follows Morpheus as he copes with the world he missed unfold while in captivity. We will also meet Morpheus’ siblings referred to as “The Endless,” which includes Death, Destiny, Desire, Dream, Destruction, Despair, and Delirium.

Netflix Taking Us On Nightmare Vacation In New Series “The I-Land”

The first teaser welcomes you to “The I-Land“, coming off like a horror version of “Lost.” The mysterious new event series follows ten people who wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of how they arrived. Kevin Smith announced at Power-Con that he is currently developing a new anime “Masters of the Universe” series for Netflix. Yes, Kevin Smith, the same Kevin Smith behind Clerks and Jay and Silent Bob.
