Netflix Series Review: “Sweet Home” Is A Monster Hit!

Netflix has released several series this year including “The Haunting of Bly Manor,” which didn’t quite live up to its predecessor. But if you are looking for a horror series on the streaming giant there is one, in particular, I highly recommend, “Sweet Home.” While the title “Sweet Home” may not sound like the name of a horror series I promise you that it is in every sense of the word. This South Korean show is the most insane thing I’ve watched in a long time. And I mean that as a compliment. Directed by Lee EungBok, the series is actually an adaptation of the webtoon by the same name. In the series, Hyunsoo, a loner high school student who lost his entire family in a terrible accident, moves to an old apartment complex called Green Home. “Locke & Key” Renewed By Netflix Ahead Of Season Two Premiere

Season two of Netflix‘s series “Locke & Key” has not even premiered yet and already the streaming giant has renewed it for season three, not that we are complaining. Based on the comic book series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez, the series follows Locke siblings and their mother who have moved into their father’s ancestral home after his death and discover the home is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. We are getting an adaptation of Todd Grimson’s horror novel “Brand New Cherry Flavor” as series from Netflix. “Brand New Cherry Flavor” centers on Lisa Nova (Salazar), an aspiring film director in the sun-drenched but seamy world of 1990 Los Angeles who embarks on a mind-altering journey — from the streets of Beverly Hills to the forests of Brazil — to seek supernatural revenge. Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel) will lead the cast that also includes Catherine Keener (Get Out), Eric Lange (Escape at Dannemora), Jeff Ward (“Agents of Shield”), Hannah Levien (The Magicians, Siren), Manny Jacinto (“The Good Place”), Leland Orser (I Am The Night, Berlin Station), and Patrick Fischler (The Right Stuff, Defending Jacob) Deadline reports. “Luke Cage” Writer Adapting ‘Forty Acres’ With Jay-Z Producing

Forty Acres, the debut novel by Dwayne Alexander Smith, was published back in 2014. Now, news has come that it’s getting a film adaptation over at Netflix. The script is from writer Cheo Hodari Coker, who was also behind the streaming giant’s fantastic series “Luke Cage.” And get this, one of the producers of the film is none other than Beyonce’s bae Jay-Z. “Forty Acres follows a civil rights attorney who must fight for survival when he’s invited to join an elite Black organization with a mind-blowing secret.” Described as a political thriller, the story is being called a “cross between The Firm and Get Out.”

Streaming Services Battling It Out To Win ‘Godzilla Vs. King Kong’

Like many films these days, it looks like Godzilla vs. King Kong will reportedly be bypassing theaters and heading straight to streaming platforms. THR is reporting that Netflix is aiming to acquire the film, offering a staggering $200 million for the upcoming movie from Legendary Pictures. However, they aren’t the only ones after the property. But word is, Warner Bros. Media wants it to premiere exclusively on their HBO Max service. The epic next chapter in the cinematic Monsterverse pits two of the greatest icons in motion picture history against one another – the fearsome Godzilla and the mighty Kong with humanity caught in the balance. Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, Rebecca Hall, Lance Reddick, Kyle Chandler, Danai Gurira, Ziyi Zhang, and Julian Dennison star in Godzilla vs. Kong, directed by Adam Wingard, which is currently in post-production. The Haunting WWII Set Horror ‘Ghosts Of War’ Debuts On Netflix

One of our favorite films of the year, the haunting World War II set horror Ghosts of War, is now streaming on Netflix! Written and directed by Final Destination‘s Eric Bress, the film follows five battle-hardened American soldiers are assigned to hold a French Chateau near the end of World War II. Formerly occupied by the Nazi high command, this unexpected respite quickly descends into madness when they encounter a supernatural enemy far more terrifying than anything seen on the battlefield. Brenton Thwaites, Alan Ritchson, Skylar Astin, Theo Rossi, Kyle Gallner, Billy Zane, and Shaun Toub star in Ghosts of War which we gave a 5 out of 5 score in our review. Netflix Review: Nobody Sleeps In The Woods Tonight Is Basic At Best

I had heard good things about writer-director Bartosz M. Kowalski’s new horror film Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight so I decided to give it a try. The movie centers on a group of teens who have been sent to a remote camp in the woods because of their addiction to technology, phones, computers, gaming, YouTube, etc… Of course, when you take a bunch of teens into the woods on a camping trip things are bound to go wrong. When a cannibal killer discovers the group he begins picking them off one by one. If imitation is the biggest form of flattery, then this movie is a love letter to slashers. What I saw was a mishmash of bits of and ideas from horror classics, including Friday the 13th, Wrong Turn, Scream, Hatchet, Tucker and Dale vs Evil, and more. Robert Englund And Seven Others Join The Cast Of “Stranger Things”

Eight new actors have joined the season four cast of one of Netflix’s biggest series, “Stranger Things” including horror icon and star of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, Robert Englund! Variety is reporting that Englund has joined along with Jamie Campbell (Sweeny Todd), Eduardo Franco (Booksmart), Joseph Quinn (Catherine the Great), Tom Wlaschiha (“Game of Thrones”), Sherman Augustus (“Into the Badlands”), Nikola Djuricko (Genius), and Mason Dye (“Bosch”). Englund is set to play Victor Creel, a “disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950s.
