Movie Review: Cam (2018)

Alice (Madeline Brewer) makes her livin’ showing the goods on her softcore live-streaming channel, but things are getting stale and numbers are dropping so she does what one does and pulls macabre stunts (such as everyone’s favorite hoary ol’ chestnut; a fake suicide) and goes further and further with her sexual content. This definitely gets more eyes on her site, but it also brings an ever increasing amount of creeper clientele. To make matter worse, Alice wakes up one morning to discover she is locked out of her channel, yet a doppelganger is carrying on with her show! Soon it’s a journey into an existence spiraling out of control, and Alice just may not have what it takes to make it out alive! Right of the bat, Cam tickles your eerie eyeballs with an over abundance of slick style. Everything is neon light, snappy editing, and thumping techno, which definitely creates a ambiance that screams of the lurid sex-on-digital world

‘Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina’ Hit With $150M Lawsuit

Netflix and Warner Brothers were hit with a $150 million dollar lawsuit over the appearance of the satanic deity Baphomet in their new series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and the ones filing the lawsuit (might surprise you) are The Satanic Temple, not to be confused with The Church of Satan. The Satanic Temple is a progressive and more politically involved movement that was formed in 2012. The reason for the upset is the focus of the show takes place around a school called The Academy of Unseen Arts in which a statue of Baphomet is seen. The Satanic Temple claims the show not only infringed on the copyright of the image of the goat-headed deity but also defamed it and misled audiences to its origin. Sandra Bullock Fight To Protect Her Kids In New Trailer For Netflix’s ‘Bird Box’

This December Netflix will unveil it’s newest horror film, Bird Box, a supernatural post-apocalyptic film being described as “Stephen King meets A Quiet Place“. Sandra Bullock stars as Malorie, a mother of two determined to protect her family at any cost. “American Horror Story” actress Sarah Paulson plays the role of Malorie’s sister Shannon. In the film, most of the world’s population is being killed by an entity that presents itself as your worst fear just before killing you. John Malkovich, Rosa Salazar, Trevante Rhodes, and Machine Gun Kelly co-star. The soundtrack includes tracks by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails. Bird Box premieres on Netflix on December 21st.

“Lucifer” Finds A New Home!

“Lucifer” fans were sad to learn that Fox had canceled the series. Many fans signed petitions and hashtagged #SaveLucifer in hopes that another network would pick up the series. Well, get ready to celebrate. Streaming giant Netflix has ordered season four of “Lucifer“! Netflix’s deal with Warner Bros. for the new season has been signed, sealed and delivered. Though there is no word yet when the 10-episode season will premiere. At this time our understanding is that the original cast will be returning, including Tom Ellis (Lucifer), Lauren German (Chloe Decker). Kevin Alejandro (Dan Espinoza), and Lesley-Ann Brandt (Mazikeen).

Francesca Reale Boards ‘Stranger Things’ For Season 3

“Haters Back Off” actress Francesca Reale has joined the cast of “Stranger Things” third season. Reale will play the recurring role of Heather, a popular lifeguard at the Hawkins community pool and will find herself at the center of a dark mystery, Variety reports. Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Cara Buono, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Dacre Montgomery, Priah Ferguson, and Sadie Sink will return for the new season along with new additions Jake Busey and Cary Elwes. The series was created by the Duffer Brothers who also serve as executive producers and directors alongside Shawn Levy.

“Nightflyers” Series Finds New Showrunner And First Look Trailer

Earlier this year, Syfy ordered the series adaptation of “Game of Thrones’ author George R. R. Martin’s 1980 novella “Nightflyers”, which had a film adaptation back in 1987. Tracking Board reported today that Daniel Cerone, the “Nightflyers” showrunner has departed over creative difference. Buhler who penned the series and is executive producing has stepped into Cerone’s place. “The drama, based on Martin’s 1980 novella and the 1987 film of the same name, follows eight scientists and a powerful telepath who embark on an expedition to the edge of the solar system aboard the Nightflyer, a ship with a small tight-knit crew and a reclusive captain, in the hopes of making contact with alien life. Now On Netflix: ‘Veronica’, A Movie So Scary People Can’t Finish It

Netflix is embracing the horror genre, and for that we are thankful. Netflix is now streaming Veronica, a film so scary that some people are turning it off mid-movie and what’s more, it has a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.The film, from Paco Plaza who delivered the 2007 zombie flick [REC], stars Sandra Escacena, Ana Torrent, Leticia Dolvera, Sonia Almarcha, Bruna González, Carla Campra, Consuelo Trujillo, Maru Valdivielso, and Claudia Placer. This supernatural tale centers on a young woman (Sandra Escacena) who must find a way to protect her younger brother and sister after she attempts to bring back the spirit of their father with a ritual performed with an ouija board. By the way, according to the film, the story is based on notes from a police file about an event that took place in Madrid in 1992.Grab a bag of popcorn, get comfy, and get ready for frightening good film. We recommend that you not watch alone.

BLACK MIRROR’S Most Horror Inspired Episode Yet Is Also One Of It’s Worst

“Black Mirror” has proven itself time and again to have some of the best writing in television. “Twilight Zone” with a technological twist, the series has never shied away from the darker side of sic-fi. Episodes like “White Christmas” and “Shut Up And Dance” have told stories more horrifying than just about anything else you’ll be likely to see on the boob tube. It’s unfortunate then that it’s most horror inspired episode yet, “Black Museum”, is such a dud. Using a toolbox that will by now be familiar to “Black Mirror” fans (consciousness transferal being the most prevalent) “Black Museum” tells three tales of horror, set around artifacts in the titular tourist attraction. Of course, this being “Black Mirror” there’s a macabre twist in each story, which include a doctor who get’s a robotic implant, letting him feel other’s pain a comatose woman uploading her consciousness into her boyfriend’s head an executed murderer’s digital projection tortured for the tourist crowd

The (Stranger) Thing

In 2002 fans of the movie The Thing where able to partake in a new chapter of the film’s universe by playing the 3rd person survival horror game, ‘The Thing’ where players take on the role of Captain Blake, a Special Forces soldier sent in with a rescue team to find survivors at the doomed U.S. Outpost 31 from John Carpenter’s film. Long story short, the events of the film and this game were part of some nefarious plot by a Biotechnology company called Gen-Inc who has subterranean research facilities all around Antarctica studying the alien organism in which a certain strain of the “Virus” was developed to be used in Biological Warfare. The game surprisingly did very well in the ratings and in 2003 the game’s developing company, Computer Artworks, were in the works to make a sequel to the game picking up where it left off, Blake flying off in a helicopter with R.J. ‘The Frankenstein Chronicle’ Series Coming To Netflix

While Universal Studios’s Dark Universe seems to be in limbo after their reboot of The Mummy didn’t receive the love the studio expected, but that doesn’t mean that no one else can’t take a stab at our favorite classic monster tales. Variety is reporting that the UK series ‘The Frankenstein Chronicles’ will be coming to the US via Netflix. While the series has only released six episodes to date the deal gives Netflix the chance to expand the show. Set in London in 1827, the re-imagining of Mary Shelly’s beloved novel stars ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Sean Bean as John Marlott, a war veteran, and policeman, as he investigates a corpse, found made from the parts of children. Intangled in the case are established figures and demonic forces.
