Netflix Unveils The Teaser For The Supernatural Series ‘Dark’

The previews for three upcoming projects from Netflix were released today. One of the was for ‘Dark’, a German thriller series described as a “family drama with a supernatural twist.” Starring Anna König, Roland Wolf, Louis Hofmann, Oliver Masucci, Jördis Triebel, Sebastian Rudolph, Mark Waschke, and Stephan Kampwirth, the series centers on four families frantically hunting for a missing child. Their search reveals the secrets and sins of their small town. While the teaser is in German, it is unkown if the series will be as well. The teaser and plot give off a ‘Stranger Things’ vibe, except ‘Dark’ is taking more of a serious tone. The teaser lets us know that the disappearances my have something to do with time. The series is from acclaimed Swiss director Baran Bo Odar (Sleepless) and from the Oscar winning producers of ‘The Lives of Others’. We can expect the series to premiere sometime this winter.

Netflix Announces ‘Castlevania’ Original Series

Netflix has announced a new original series, ‘Castlevania’. The “super violent” series, likely to be animated, will be helmed by Adi Shankhar (Judge Dredd) and Federator (Adventure Time). ‘Castlevania’, also known in Japanese as ‘Akumajō Dracula’, is based on the video game franchise by the same name . The game series, first released in 1986, was created and developed by Konami, an centers on the Belmont family, a clan of vampire hunters, and their battle with Lord Alucard. Netflix has not released and other details about the upcoming series other than we will see it premiere later this year. But we will keep you posted. Netflix Acquires The Worldwide Rights To The South Korean Disaster Film Pandora

Netflix has acquired the worldwide rights to ‘Pandora’, the South Korean nuclear thriller, Varietyreports. ‘Pandora’ comes from the producers behind ‘Train to Busan’, the acclaimed post-apocalypse zombie film released earlier this year. In the film, a “worker at a nuclear power plant must save the day after an earthquake damages the facility and threatens to cause a catastrophe.” ‘Pandora’ was directed by Park Jung Woo (Deranged) and stars Kim Nam-gil, Jung Jin-young, Kim Young-ae, and Kim Dae-myeiong. Three New Antihero Original Series Coming To Netflix

Netflix is working hard to expand their original programming, and is doing a mighty fine job I might add. With shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones forming huge fan bases, it’s no surprise that they are adding shows along the same lines, including Punisher. Marvel and Netflix have created a winning partnership and according to sources they’re adding three new series that fans will finding interesting. According to MovieCreedLive and ComicBook.com, their sources have reported that Netflix will be adding live-action series based on Blade, Ghost Rider and Moon Knight to their streaming library. While it hasn’t been confirmed, the information sounds pretty legit. 2007’s Ghost Rider did pretty well, however the 2011 sequel bombed with fans. Moon Knight, the lesser known of the three, has a lot of potential in the right hands. In my opinion, each of the three series could be great. The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun Joins The Cast Of New Film And New Series

On the finale of The Walking Dead our favorite characters were lined up for Negan’s demented game of Eeny-Meeny-Miny-Moe. It’s well known that in the comics that Negan bashes Glenn’s skull in, but it’s been hinted that on the show someone else may die in his place. Fans have been spinning theories since, but now casting news has come that may shed light on Glenn’s fate on series. We learned from The Hollywood Reporter earlier today that Steven Yeun (Glenn) has signed to star in the upcoming sci-fi flick Okja, along side Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal and Lily Collins. The film, from director Bong Joon-Ho (Snowpiercer), will air exclusively on Netflix and began production yesterday. Adam Wingard’s Death Note Picked Up By Netflix

Netflix is counting to beef up their exclusive film library. They have now entered in to final negotiations to pick up Adam Wingard’s American remake of Death Note, which was originally at Warner Bros. Netflix is already eyeing a June start date, according to Variety. The film, based on a Japanese Manga series, stars Nat Wolff (Paper Towns) and Margaret Qualley (The Nice Guys). Wolff plays a student who discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone by simply writing their name in it. A game of cat-and-mouse ensues when a cop picks up the trail. Shane Black was attached to direct, but the film has since been taken over by Wingard (You’re Next). Fantastic Four scribe Jeremy Sater penned the most recent version of the script. Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Jason Hoffs and Masi Oka are producing the film with Doug Davison and Brian Witten serving as executive producers.

It Seems Making A Murderer Is Getting A Second Season

The latest series obsession, the documentary series Making A Murderer, has been making major waves. The series documents Stephen Avery’s wrongful conviction, followed by his arrest for the murder of Teresa Halbach, suggests that he was framed for the murder by corrupt officials. Word has surfaced that suggests a second season of Making A Murderer, complete with “explosive new evidence”. Filmmakers Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi have stated that they have spoken with Avery several times about continuing to document his story. A second juror has come forward expressing their belief that Avery was indeed framed. Avery released a statement via WISN 12 News saying that “The real killer is out there.” He maintains that he is innocent and that another man is responsible for Halbach’s murder.
