Witness The Trailer For Shudder’s Religious Horror ‘The Last Thing Mary Saw’

Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thrillers, and the supernatural, unveiled today the new trailer and new poster for the upcoming Shudder Original The Last Thing Mary Saw. This period horror stars Rory Culkin (Waco, Halston), Stefanie Scott (Insidious: Chapter 3), and Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan). The Last Thing Mary Saw was written and directed by Edoardo Vitaletti, who is making his feature debut. Set in Southold, New York, in 1843: Young Mary (Scott), who has blood trickling from behind the blindfold tied around her eyes, is interrogated about the events surrounding her grandmother’s death. As the story jumps back in time, we witness Mary, raised in a repressively religious household, finding fleeting happiness in the arms of Eleanor (Fuhrman), the home’s maid. Her family, who believe they are seeing, speaking, and acting on God’s behalf, view the girls’ relationship as an abomination, to be dealt with as severely as possible. Exorcism Training Being Offered At The Vatican For The First Time Ever

For the most part, exorcisms are parts of movie plots, books, folklore, and, at minimum, things of the past. However, according to the Vatican, we still need the…and we need them desperately! According to Fr Benigno Palilla of Sicily, demonic possessions have tripled in recent years and thus additional exorcism training is required. Up until now, the Vatican has officially been very hush-hush about demonic possession and exorcisms. However, that is all about to change. The Catholic church will be holding a training course from April 16th to the 21st at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in the Vatican to train religious leaders in exorcisms and the prayer of liberation, which is often used to combat demonic possession. The course will be offered to meet the need for more exorcists. Palilla cautions against attempting exorcisms without the proper training. ““A self-taught exorcist certainly will make mistakes. Movie Review: Veronica is a Fun Supernatural Yarn

Veronica has got it rough all over; since her father died her mother has to work mega long hours leaving V-dawg in charge of her young siblings…when she isn’t attending classes at the local Catholic school that is. Speaking of that school, Veronica and two of her friends get the absolutely dip-shit idea to head down into the building’s basement during a solar eclipse to use a Ouija board to contact their dead loved ones. This goes about as well as one would expected and Veronica suffers some sort of physical episode. This leads to an outre presence making itself known at her home that threatens to destroy Veronica and her entire family. Will our young heroine be able to force those ghost back into whatever nether hell they emerged from, or will she lose herself to the darkness? Veronica is an interesting film for a number of reasons, and this may come a surprise given how familiar the story

Hans Schmidt – The Demonic Priest

Before recent history, priests were deemed as holy patrons who helped their followers into salvation. The reputation of the priesthood has been sullied somewhat with heinous crimes, but priestly sin has a history that dates through centuries of history. There are, of course, holy man and women who have stayed true to the straight and narrow…but there are some who crimes and sins that are horrific on their own, but magnified due to the calling of the offender. 1881 marks the birth year of Hans Schmidt. He was born in Aschaffenburg Germany and ordained a priest in 1906. This vocation was not surprising as Schmidt immersed himself in religious practices as a child and earned the nickname The Little Priest. The religious fascination was bound with a fascination with sacrifices and young Schmidt would spend hours watching animals get butchered. Schmidt immigrated to Louisville, Kentucky in the USA in 1909 and was assigned to St. John’s Parish. An unknown issue

Charles Manson – The Man Who Thinks He is Both Christ and Satan

Monsters are real. Many articles have and will be written about mass murderers, serial killers, sociopaths and every other type of terror anyone can imagine. That being said, there are few monsters who come close to the topic of today’s article. This man brainwashed others to do, in his own words, Satan’s work. He was a beacon of evil for lost and damaged souls to latch onto and feel part of something. This monster gave his disciples purpose…the abominable purpose of Helter Skelter. Charles Manson was never convicted of murder himself, but he has spent nearly a lifetime in prison for composing one of the most publicised and vicious mass murders in modern history…and that is only a fraction of his reign of terror. The timing of this article coincides with Manson being admitted to a California hospital due to an undisclosed illness. Rumour is that Manson is suffering from gastrointestinal issues, but it is against federal and state law

Martillo: Devil-Smiter by Greg Meldrum and David Broughton is an independent comic by one of the creators of Spectre Show, which I reviewed a few weeks back. This story, while ripe with all the edgy artwork David Broughton typically brings to the table, is instead about 1950s Spain. A man stands between humanity and supernatural wickedness. …and Pablo Picasso, apparently. (I was as bewildered as you when I first read that, I promise.) Since I enjoyed Spectre Show, I definitely wanted to give Martillo a chance. Book Description: It is 1948, and General Franco’s fascist government rules Spain with an iron fist. Isolated from the rest of Europe, the country has become a breeding ground for supernatural wickedness – and that’s where Martillo comes in. A servant of the Saint of Labourers, Martillo wields a hammer and smites evil – HARD! In this collection, Martillo takes on pagan storm-gods, metal-obsessed spectres, sadistic thorn-monsters, gold-eating devil-weasels, hungry bogeymen and Pablo Picasso!
