‘The Thing In The Apartment’ Is Terrifyingly Good (Watch)

Short horror films set out to squeeze the terror and suspense of a horror film into only a few minutes which is a difficult task. A few days ago I watched a short film titled The Thing in the Apartment, written and directed by John William Ross, that left me very impressed and we have it here to share with you. The film, starring Melia Renee as “Sam” and Carly Jones as “Lindsey”, follows a young a woman who suddenly sees a creature in her apartment and flees in terror. The monster, played by Ryan Allan Young, is so terrifying that it leaves her in shock. After calling her friend, the two return to her apartment where things go from bad to worse. The short, which premiered on Crypt TV, was extremely well executed and the actresses did an amazing job. Jones was very convincing when it came to being terrified. ‘Something’s Awry Productions’ Are Here! Don’t Miss Them At FilmQuest Film Festival

There are a lot of projects that come to Horrorfuel. Some look really cool and exciting and the odd one looks a little…not quite as exciting. However, there is no exaggeration in my extreme interest and excitement for ‘Something’s Awry Productions’ short films that I was just lucky enough to watch the trailers for. I have to admit, I was hooked with the opening tag and loved every second of the trailer. My only wish is that I could have watched the entire films! Luckily, you get that chance! Provo, UT, September 7, 2017 – Something’s Awry Productions will screen two animated shorts, ‘MARY & MARSHA IN THE MANOR OF MADNESS’ and ‘THE GIFT OF THE WOODS’, at the FilmQuest Film Festival on Friday September 15th. Wesley Alley, the co-director of the upcoming genre film The Voices, who has worked on films and series such as Kong: Skull Island, Twin Peaks, Teen Wolf, is currently working on his next project, the short horror film SockMonster which he not only directed, but also wrote. Sigourney Weaver Again Battles Otherworldly Menace In Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Rakka’

After Neill Blomkamp‘s failed attempt at adding a fifth installment to the ‘Alien’ franchise, the visionary sci-fi director announced the creation of his own film production company, Oats Studios. The first offering from the studio is the short ‘Rakka’, a gritty, post-apocalyptic alien invasion film set in the near future. The film opens somewhere in Texas, in the year 2020. From the outset, each frame absolutely oozes an ultra-bleak, dystopian atmosphere. The world as we know it is no more; in its place is a brutal hellscape in which nearly all of humanity (well, what’s left of it anyhow) is enslaved by a barbaric, if highly advanced species of reptilian extraterrestrials. Davide Melini Announces: “Italian Giallo is Ready to Make its Return”

Davide Melini (Lions, Penny Dreadful, Into the Badlands) is thrilled to announce his upcoming short film Deep Shock. Starring Muireann Bird, Francesc Pagès, George Bracebridge, Lorna Larkin, Erica Prior, Luis Fernández de Eribe. Short Film “Agatha” Brings Simple Terror to Your Screen

Writer/Producer Timothy Vandenberg (Quattelbaum, 4th and Long, Song of a Fifth Grade Samurai) and Producer John Mario Marchioni bring a new horror to the short film world. The 8-minute long film Agatha tells the story of an orphan girl who “is paid handsomely by an old woman to bring meals to someone living in her attic until the girl crosses the one boundary set for her, and discovers a deadly truth.” Set in the Pennsylvania 1800s, orphans were a common occurrence and hundreds of children roamed the streets and were filling orphanages. This story deals with one curious girl and a mysterious woman in an attic who has an all too enticing secret. In an interview, Vanderberg discusses the challenge of finding the right cast and how happy he is with each performance. The Little Mermaid – Pain, Love, and Death

Years ago, when I was in school, the entirety of students were shuffled into the gym for a long-forgotten reason, sat down on the hard, wooden floor and “The Little Mermaid” was projected for us all to watch. I think that my favorite part of this Disney version was the singing seagull who walloped through the hit song “Kiss the Girl” with guttural la-la-las until he was physically silenced by the little red crab. I loved the juxtaposition of a happy little tune on a romantic date trying to set the mood for some smooching and this seagull is bellowing in the background just trying to fit in…why is he the only animal in the whole Disney-oceanic world who can’t sing? In this well-known version of this cartoon the foul-singing fowl is painful on the ears, but the original story is filled to the brim with pain and misery. A Young Woman’s Halloween Turns Deadly In Alex J. Mann’s Short Horror Film ‘Wink’

These days we would be lost without our phones and without the emoji that convey our every emotion, but what if those emoji took on a life their own and were out for blood? Alex J. Mann has captured that nightmare in his new short film ‘Wink’. ‘Wink’ follows a young woman on what she thinks will be your average Halloween handing out candy. She is completely unaware that her night will turn deadly at the hands of emoji. Mann is also the filmmaker behind the short horror films ‘3 Seconds‘ and ‘Me2‘, which have had an impressive 3 1/2 million views. ‘Wink’ was Directed by Mann, who co-wrote the film with K. A Nightmare on Elm Street actress Amanda Wyss stars along side Amanda Parsons and Georgia McCorkle in the short horror film Oct 23rd. Written, directed and edited by Paul Santana, the film is based on a true story. Oct 23rd centers on Paige (Parsons), a mother that has just lost her husband, Frank. He was killed crossing the street while their daughter watched. She can not shake the feeling that Chelsea (McCorkle), her young daughter, is responsible. She can her daughter’s voice inside her head urging her to harm herself as her daughter sits watching on with a smile. Paige recounts the events of the past few weeks to her friend Karen, who is urging her to get help.
