Game Review: ‘Song Of Horror’

Those who have been reading past articles of mine may have noticed that I covered Song of Horror a lot as the premise of the game caught my attention and got my spooky meter going as I do love a good scary game. The wait is over and I can now finally say a big thank you to Protocol Games and Raiser Games for the opportunity to review! Now let’s see if the long wait was worth it! Song of Horror follows 13 playable characters as they investigate the mysterious disappearance of famed mystery writer Sebastian P. Husher and his family. The investigation immediately goes out of control as the disappearances revolve around a mysterious music box and an otherworldly entity known simply as the Presence is responsible and has ensnared the investigators as well. If you are a fan of the old-school survival horror games, this is for you! Immediately you will notice that the game is set up

Horror Fuel’s 6 Best And Worst Games Reviewed In 2019

The year is coming to a close and officially I have no more video games to review for the year! 2019 was a roller coaster of hits and misses when it came to gaming. There have been exciting announcements that are making gamers excited for the new year like the new Half-Life VR (my prediction is next there will be a Half-Life Mobile THEN we may see Half-Life 3), there’s been hyped up games like Death Stranding that disappointed and confused many and divided Kojima fans. Then there’s our little corner here in the world. I was fortunate enough to review quite a few games this year but it’s that time I have to look back at the ones that matter, the horror ones, and see which titles I’ve reviewed that after completion I would still keep their ratings the same, and which I would probably banish to the shadow realm! Here’s some behind the scenes info for you guys,

‘Song Of Horror’ Coming To PS4 And Xbox One In 2020

Raiser Games and Protocol Games have announced that since their flagship survival horror game Song of Horror has been doing well with both players and critics alike, they will be bringing the game to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Q2 2020. Along with news of the release comes information about the release date for the third episode of the game coming December 13th (ON A FRIDAY). The devs also would like to remind PC gamers that along with buying the base game, if they buy the Complete Nightmare Pass (season pass) that’s sold separately they don’t have to buy the (5) episodes individually. Also for a limited time, there’s a sale on for the Founder Limited Edition, this includes the base game AND season pass, the sale ends December 31st. The console version will not be episodic like the PC version as it will have all five episodes included. Players experience a call back to older horror games as

‘Song Of Horror’ Coming To Steam This Halloween!

Protocol Games & Raiser Games announced that their upcoming psychological horror game Song of Horror, will terrify players this Halloween! Players take on the role, or should I say roles, of 1 of 13 playable characters as they investigate the disappearance of writer Sebastian P. Husher. Upon starting their investigation, players will soon realize that otherworldly forces the likes of which they never experienced in a game before is at work! As mentioned there are 13 playable characters in the game to choose from. Each character has their own back-story and their own unique way of interacting within the story. Why 13 characters you ask? Well there’s a permadeath mechanic in this game, meaning that once a character dies…that’s it. Once a character dies, a new one takes their place and picks up the investigation where they left off. What adds to the tension of Song of Horror is the fact that the game itself is non-scripted! The AI used

Death Is Permanent In ‘Song Of Horror’

When you die in a video game, usually you restart from a checkpoint or where you last saved, but many gamers like a challenge, now comes the gaming term that either excites or terrifies players, “permadeath”. Permadeath is a gaming slang term for “permanent death” means exactly as it sounds, when you die in a game that’s it, game over, you must now start from scratch. Most games either don’t have this mechanic as it’s more or less a personal challenge made by the player themselves or in some games like Wolfenstein: New Colossus it’s a difficulty that you can unlock, but for upcoming survival horror game Song of Horror by Protocol Games it’s the game’s main feature. To ease your concerns about the permadeath mechanic in Song of Horror, it’s only permanent for one of 16 playable characters, that’s right, you can control 16 different characters! The game’s protagonist, Daniel Noyer, is at the center of the game’s story
