Walking Dead Producers File Suit Against AMC – Is This The Beginning Of The End ?

We all know that AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ is a HUGE success. And of course with success comes the desire for people to get what they believe they deserve. The executive producers of TWD have filed suit against AMC. Frank Darabont, the show’s creator, filed a lawsuit back in 2013 following his termination halfway through the second season. Darabont claims that AMC denied him profits promised from the series by the network. Now, the show might really be in trouble. Comic book creator and series co-creator Robert Kirkman along with executive producers Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, and Glen Mazzara have filed suit against AMC making similar claims as Darabont. The group are challenging the amount AMC pays its in-house studio, AMC Studios, THR reports. ‘The Walking Dead’ is not the only series that could be affected. Both ‘Fear the Walking Dead’, and ‘Talking Dead’ are also included in the suit. This case arises from a major entertainment conglomerate’s failure

‘Walking Dead’s Glen Mazzara Signs On As Showrunner For ‘Dark Tower’ Series

Even with The Dark Towers getting a lukewarm (at best) reception from critics, the series adaption is still moving forward. It has just been announced by Sony and Media Rights Capital that they have hired The Walking Dead’s former executive producer Glen Mazzara as the series’ showrunner. Set to have between 10 and 13 episodes per season, the series will begin production in 2018. The film adaptation’s lead actor Idris Elba will star as Roland. Dennis Haybert will play the role of Roland’s father, Steven. Tom Taylor has also joined the cast to play Jake Chambers. In an interview, co-writer and producer Akiva Goldsman announced that writing the scripts has begun. The first episode of a show has been written, and we hope to retain Ron Howard’s original idea to mix platforms, something that seemed revolutionary 10 years ago but now is something that others have done,” Goldsman said. “Idris for sure is part of this, and if the movie

Filming For The Walking Dead Put On Hold After Stunt Actor’s Death

AMC’s The Walking Dead suffered a tragic loss earlier this month when voice actor Randy Schell died in a tragic shy diving accident. Yesterday, tragedy struck again. While filming for season 8, veteran stunt actor John Bernecker had a major accident on set falling from a balcony and plummeting 30 feet onto a concrete floor, suffering a major head injury. Bernecker was flown to the Atlanta Medical Center where he is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. Filming has been put on hold until the accident can be investigated. Bernecker’s girlfriend, Jennifer Cocker, shared a brief statement on his Facebook updating their friends and family: “John deserves to be see by every neurosurgeon [sic] and doctor there is until one of them sees the life we all know he has in him and bring him back to us…THIS ISNT FAIR,” The message implies that Bernecker is in a very serious condition. We are saddened to report that John Bernecker, a

AMC Is Going Commercial Free

One of the biggest annoyances is having your favorite series interrupted by commercials and a lot of them. A few months ago Hulu started giving subscribes the options to go commercial free (for a fee of course). Now, you will soon be able to watch The Walking Dead, and any other series on AMC, commercial free. Comcast customers will be able to access AMC Premiere for only $5 extra a month. Not only will customers be able to avoid the commercials, they will be able to watch exclusive content and movies to make the deal even sweeter. It really is a fantastic idea. I only see one problem, when other networks take the same route, and they will eventually, fees will start to pile up. There is also the issue that not all AMC viewers have Comcast. Will you go commercial free with AMC Premiere? Let us know.

Is ‘The Mummy’ As Bad As Everyone Says?

Yes. Yes it is. ………But I think its worth watching anyway, as a lesson in how not to make a horror movie, if nothing else. Studio horror rightfully gets a lot of shit, and The Mummy might just be the perfect example of a production studio that doesn’t have a fucking clue what horror fans want. But what this disaster-piece really does is show how little faith studios have in horror at all. Despite films like The Conjuring grossing over $300 Million dollars, film producers still don’t believe horror has the drawing power that more traditional Blockbuster and action films do. So rather than anything close to a horror movie, The Mummy is instead a big budget Tom Cruise action film, the start of a cinematic universe no less (on a related note, has anyone outside of Marvel even come close to a halfway watchable cinematic universe?) Never mind the fact that the mummy is a monster with literally thousands
