Blu-ray Review: Lords of Chaos (2018)

Ol’ Øystein “Euronymous “Aarseth (Rory Culkin) lives a rather bland existence in late ’80’s Norway doing the typical teen biz; drinking, smoking, starting Mayhem…a legendary Satanic Black Metal band…the usual. The days are filled with fun, gifts of crucified mice from fanatical fans, and endless practice sessions. Enter: new vocalist Pelle ‘Dead’ Ohlin (Jack Kilmer)…a real ray of sunshine that brings with him a heavy cloud of darkness and depression…and a real move forward for the band musically and visually. Of course tragedy soon follows and things begin to really go off the rails once the eager-to-please Kristian ‘Varg’ Vikernes (Emory Cohen) makes the scene along with some radical ideas (read: fucked-up) that soon have him and Euronymous at odds and things falling desperately out of control (to put it mildly). Zac Efron Turns On The Charm In The ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’ Trailer

Zac Efron turns up the charm and the creepiness in the new trailer for the Ted Bundy film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile from director Joe Berlinger and writer Michael Werwie. Ted Bundy was known for his charm and ease with women which he used to murder at least 30 women between 1974 and 1978. Efron does a fantastic job of coping that charm in the trailer for the film. It’s pretty fitting that Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is headed to Netflix seeing that Berlinger’s Bundy documentary Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes is already available on the streaming giant. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile tells Bundy’s story through the point of view of his longtime girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins) who was oblivious to the killings that Bundy was committing during their several years that they were together. Movie Review: The Amityville Murders (2018)

Man, Ronnie Jr. “Butch” DeFeo (John Robinson) has got it tough. His abusive ape of a father (Paul Ben-Victor) treats him like a punching bag (due in no small part to his draft dodging, pot smoking ways)…when he isn’t up to Mob biz that is, his dabbling into the supernatural has left him susceptible to arcane evil from the depths of hell, his girlfriend is on his ass every second (she kinda has a point as Butch chucks her ass out of a car into a huge mud puddle after a mid-blowie, hallucinogenic incest based freak-out…you know, a Tuesday for you boils n’ ghouls no doubt), oh…and there’s a rock solid chance this cat is a full-on lunatic. Before long the paranormal and psychosis begin to take their toll and Butch will be pushed beyond his limits! There’s a lot to dig about The Amityville Murders in my not so humble opinion. Zak Bagans Producing Charles Manson Documentary

There are a whole slew of Charles Manson films being releases soon. The Tarantino one starring Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio is getting the most spotlight and love…for obvious reasons, but we have just learned that ‘Ghost Adventures’ star Zak Bagans is producing a documentary on the modern day monster which will be titled ‘Manson’s Bloodline’. Bagans tells TMZ that filming began on the doc shortly before Manson’s death last year; “it will cover everything from Manson’s life to the news of his death and the court battle over his body… to exclusive footage of his open casket funeral.” This documentary will surely be informative, in-depth, and interesting. Regardless of the monster that Manson was and the absolute horrific nature of his life, he remains a very popular figure to examine. Movie Review: Veronica is a Fun Supernatural Yarn

Veronica has got it rough all over; since her father died her mother has to work mega long hours leaving V-dawg in charge of her young siblings…when she isn’t attending classes at the local Catholic school that is. Speaking of that school, Veronica and two of her friends get the absolutely dip-shit idea to head down into the building’s basement during a solar eclipse to use a Ouija board to contact their dead loved ones. This goes about as well as one would expected and Veronica suffers some sort of physical episode. This leads to an outre presence making itself known at her home that threatens to destroy Veronica and her entire family. Will our young heroine be able to force those ghost back into whatever nether hell they emerged from, or will she lose herself to the darkness? Veronica is an interesting film for a number of reasons, and this may come a surprise given how familiar the story

Movie Review: The Flatwoods Monster: A Legacy of Fear is Creepy, Campfire Horror Story Cool!

Beginning as it does with an opening credits sequence that wouldn’t be out of place in any given ’50’s era alien invasion flick, The Flatwoods Monster: A Legacy of Fear spins a yarn jammed fat with flying saucers, putrid smelling monsters, and flesh melting fog…and the best part of it all is, this is believed by many to be a true story! The documentary begins by introducing us to the bucolic splendor of Braxton County West Virginia, and more supposedly the sleepy hamlet of Flatwoods…a town where you would likely find more tipped cows than space invaders (though West Virginia itself has been a hotbed of paranormal activity for ages, with the most prominent example being The Mothman), yet in 1952 the May family had an experience that blew that all to hell and back, as they witnessed a strange craft land and dispense an outre (perhaps mechanical) being that scared them shitless…as it would anyone. Movie Review: Cruel Summer is a Vacation I Never Hope to Take Again.

This is probably going to be one of the shorter reviews I have ever written…mainly because I think if I spend any more time time thinking about Cruel Summer I may get sick. Cruel Summer tells the charming (and supposedly true) tale of a young autistic man named Danny (Richard Pawulski) from the inner-city that gets a chance to go to the country thanks to a Governmental program. While there he encounters a real psycho of a human being who plans Danny’s demise after his equally atrocious girlfriend concocts a lie about the youth. You can guess the rest. Let’s see if I can put a positive on some of this…I guess if you want to see a film that fully displays the cruelty and unfairness that life can throw at someone then Cruel Summer is the picture for you. There is no epic revenge, no hope, barely any retribution…it’s just one unfortunate soul encountering a force that is out

Canadian Nurse Of Death Is Finally Sentenced

“I am truly sorry for the people I injured and murdered. Sorry is much too small a word.” These words by former nurse Elizabeth Wettlaufer were spoken after she was sentenced to life in prison with no chance for parole for 25 years. I know, I know, Canada is known for hockey and apologizing, but unfortunately we breed monsters too. This 50 year old nurse plead guilty to eight counts of first degree murder with 4 counts of attempted murder and 2 counts of aggravated assault. All of which occurred at various nursing homes in Ontario, Canada. Wettlaufer believed that, after years of drug and alcohol abuse, she had not only found, but been chosen by God to be an instrument in his hands. Man Left Terrified After He Stumbles Across A Creepy Scene In The Woods

It is not rare for people to find creepy things while exploring in the woods, but one man found something not only odd but scary. James Rankin was hiking in the secluded woods in Long Island, New York when stumbled across an eerie scene, dozens of missing persons posters taped to trees. As he films his discovery, you can hear the terror in his voice as he says, “I’ll cut right to the chase because I might die. Look what these are,” as he zooms in one of the posters with the picture and information of Jennifer Kesse, last seen in Florida back in 2006. As he explores the area and posters, you can see that someone is camping nearby. He also finds what looks like an old cage built out of limbs. Jack the Stripper – Not a Typo

Everyone knows the name Jack the Ripper. The serial killer who was never captured from the 1800s in London; however, there is a much less publicized killer from England dubbed Jack the Stripper. Like his near-namesake, he slaughtered prostitutes, was never captured, and the killings ceased on their own for an unknown reason. Between the years 1964-1965 The Stripper murdered 6-8 women and deposited their bodies near the River Thames. His victims were not sexually abused, but they were left nude and horrifically mutilated for the public to discover. No connection between the victims was ever confirmed, but it was highly thought that they were all prominent members of the underground pornography scene in London. John Du Rose, the chief of Scotland Yard at the time, searched vigilantly for the killer, and a list of over 7,000 suspects were interviewed…but to no avail. Then Du Rose had another plan.
