The season 6 finale of The Walking Dead is only a few days away. We all know that Negan (Jeffery Dean Morgan) is coming, but what you don’t know is that when the cast members read the script some got sick, some cried and some were left speechless and that gives us a huge knot in our stomach.
In an interview with EW Andrew Lincoln, who plays Sheriff Rick Grimes, made a statement about the season finale that has many worried about what’s coming in the upcoming episodes and the fate of our favorite characters.
“I felt sick to my stomach when I read the script. It was the first day in the whole six years of working on The Walking Dead that I was late for work because I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn’t get back to sleep. I was so angry and frustrated and I felt sick. And that was just after reading it.”
Melissa McBride describes the season finale, titled ‘Something To Fear’ as “So very dark.” in an interview McBride told ComicBook.com about her reaction to the Season 6 finale’s script. “I couldn’t say anything after I had finished reading it. I felt like I had dropped into a black hole.”
Lauren Cohan, who plays Glenn’s wife Maggie on the show, had this to say about the upcoming finale:
“Hearing the word ‘finale’ gives me a physical reaction because it’s the hardest day on set that I’ve ever had in my life. I never even imagined that as an actor you could have that experience. It’s one of the most raw experiences that I think any of us have ever had. Andy talks about being late to work; I didn’t want to go to work that day. It took a really, really long time for everybody to feel okay again after the finale, let’s put it that way,” Cohan told comicbook.com.
A few weeks ago in a featurette (below) Norman Reedus, aka Daryl, commented that “We don’t all survive.”
Now we all know what happens when Negan is introduced in the comics, he bashes in Glenn’s head with his baseball bat Lucille. But that doesn’t mean it will happen on the show. It wouldn’t be the first time the two have differed. Out of everyone on the show Steven Yeun, who plays Glenn, had a completely different opinion on Negan’s arrival, a very optimistic one, which makes us wonder if someone else will take his character’s place at the end of the bat.
“For me, his arrival is awesome,” Yeun said. “We’ve been waiting for this person for a long time, and in the comic books, he in a way brings a level of stakes that are kind of unmatched. And so, for me, for Negan to come into the show is, to say nothing less, f—ing awesome.”
I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens and pray that our favorite characters make through the finale alive.
