Today, THR has confirmed that Rebecca Ferguson will star as the leading lady. The talented actress has starred in films such as Life, The Snowman, The Greatest Showman, and The Girl on the Train. Ferguson joins Ewan McGregor who will play Danny Torrence as an adult, which Stephen King gave his blessing for.

He’s followed in his father’s footsteps and has problems with anger management and alcoholism. He soon gives up drinking and settles in a small town in New Hampshire. While there, his psychic abilities start to resurface and he develops a psychic link with a 12-year-old girl named Abra Stone who he must save after he discovers her life is being threatened by a tribe of paranormals led by a man named Rose the Hat.”
Flanagan, who was behind the King adaptation Gerald’s Game for Netflix, along with his producing partner Trevor Macy and Vertigo Entertainment’s Jon Berg will be producing.
Doctor Sleep is set to open in theaters on January 24, 2020.
