Fans of the beloved 1998 Halloween classic Practical Magic rejoice! Warner Bros. Pictures has officially confirmed it is conjuring a sequel.
The news broke on TikTok with a playful video featuring a scene from the original film—the iconic dance sequence between Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman‘s characters, Sally and Gillian Owens, as they indulge in “midnight margaritas.” A text overlay on the clip reads, ” Me and the girls are finding out that Practical Magic 2 is happening.”
Warner Bros. fueled the fire by confirming the sequel’s development and teasing a “coming soon” release. While a premiere date remains under wraps, the studio has yet to reveal if Bullock and Kidman will return to their beloved roles. But multiple news sources report they will.
“It’s official… Practical Magic 2 is coming!” the caption confirmed.
It’s unclear whether it’s a full-fledged sequel featuring a new story set in the enchanting world of the classic or a whole new magical tale, but one thing’s for sure: a sprinkle of movie magic is coming soon. We’ll keep you posted.
While a previously planned TV series, “The Rules of Magic,” didn’t come to fruition, Warner Bros. seems to have something special brewing.
Producer Denise Di Novi has hinted at a different project, keeping details under wraps but promising to “thrill” fans. “It’s not ‘The Rules of Magic,’ which I did develop for television, but it’s in the world of Practical Magic,” she teased.
You can now watch Practical Magic on Apple TV or MAX or rent or purchase it on pretty much any digital or streaming service.
