X Files Season 4 – 6 Breakdown Part 2

Last week I left off just before the end of season 3, the reason I did this was because there was a lot of new information to cover and I did not want to confuse fans (old and newcomers alike) halfway through the breakdown. Meanwhile, The Smoking Man, meets with Mulder’s mother and the two argue as someone photographs of them are taken from a distance. Tim Curry Has Joined The Rocky Horror Reboot

The news that Fox would be hosting a reboot of The Rocky Horror Picture Show was met with mixed emotions from fans, but we have news that may change that. Tim Curry, the original Dr. Frank-N-Furter has joined the production! No, he won’t be wearing hills and a bustier, that will be left to Laverne Cox. Curry will be playing the role of the narrator, the criminalist. The other roles have been filled by Victoria Justice as Janet Weiss and Ryan McCartan was cast as her fiancee Brad Majors. Staz Nair will play Frank-N-Furter’s boy toy Rocky. Penny Dreadful’s Reeve Carney will play Riff Raff the doctor’s faithful handy man. Eddie, once played by Meatloaf, will now be played by Adam Lambert. We are still waiting learn will co-star as Magenta and Columbia. # The two-hour special will air this fall. Beware The Slenderman Debuting At SXSW

It’s premiere season and so far the line up for SXSW is booming. One of the films premiering at SXSW is Irene Taylor Brodsky’s Beware the Slenderman, inspired by the popular legend. In the film, two twelve-year-old girls find an online Boogeyman and vow to kill for him. “The entrance to the internet quickly leads to its darkest basement. How responsible are our children for what they find there?” Very little else is known about the film at this time. The image below has surfaced and is reportedly connected to the film. Most of you will recognize the legend of The Slender Man. He is unnaturally tall and slender. The pale-man also has a featureless face. Slender Man is often described as having the power to manipulate people into killing for him. Real murders have been carried out in his name, but he was actually created online in 2009 on the “Something Awful” forum.

The Seguel/Spin-Off Of Cloverfield Is Coming!

News comes this morning that after years of rumors the sequel/spin-off to 2008’s Cloverfield is not only real, it’s wrapped filming and is set to land in theaters on March 11th and there is a trailer! Paramount has confirmed it. The title of the film is 10 Cloverfield Lane. 10 Cloverfield Lane stars John Goodman, Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. The film centers on a woman who wakes up to realize she is being held in a cellar by Goodman’s character, who believes there has been a nuclear disaster, but when she escapes she realizes that there is something happening and really was trying to protect her. The film is not a true sequel. It is more of a spin-off. It takes place in a different location than the events that took place in Cloverfield.

Joe Hill’s The Fireman Coming To The Silver Screen

Fox will be bringing the adaption of Joe Hill’s upcoming novel The Fireman to the big screen. Now You See Me’s Louis Leterrier will be directing. Joe Hill In the novel, a worldwide pandemic of spontaneous combustion threatens to reduce civilization to ashes. A band of improbable heroes battle to save it. Their leader is an enigmatic man simply known as the Fireman. The Fireman (novel) will be for sale in stores and online this May. Hill has already built quite the reputation. His novel N0S4A2 is being adapted for a series for AMC and In The Tall Grass, which he co-wrote with his father Stephen King, is also being adapted as a film. He clearly inherited his father’s gift for writing.

Del Toro Adapting Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark

Guillermo det Toro is preparing a new project, the film adaption of the youth book series Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. The plot details are being kept hush, hush. Not only will del Toro be directing, he will also be producing along side Jason Brown, Sean Daniel and Elizabeth Grave. The extremely popular book series, which began in 1984, was written by Alvin Schwatz. The film is likely to be frightening, after all the books were banned by most libraries after being deemed too scary for kids by the American Library Association. I loved these books as a kid. I can’t wait to see del Toro’s adaption.

Colossal, Starring Anne Hathaway, Has Wrapped Filming

Filming has wrapped on Colossal, written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo. In this monster movie a young woman (Anne Hathaway) moves back to her home town after losing her job and boyfriend in New York, only to discover that she is somehow connected to a giant creatures that materialized over Seoul and is wreaking havoc. She must overcome her mental breakdown, because she is the only one who can stop the creatures. Hathaway stars along side Jason Sudeikis, Dan Stevens, Austin Stowell and Tim Blake Nelson. Colossal is set to open in theaters some time later this year. Rumor is, the movie has already run into a little trouble. Colossal is said to a little much like Godzilla, at least according to Toho Studios who created Godzilla. They are suing the film because of the similarities, according to an article by THR.

King’s Cell To Debut At The Glasgow Film Festival

We reported back in February of 2015 that Stephen King’s novel Cell was coming to the big screen, but we have heard nothing since about the film, until now. John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, who both starred in King’s 1408, will be reuniting for Cell. Isabelle Fuhrman, Stacy Keach, Lloyd Kaufman, Griffin Freeman, Joshua Mikel and Wilbur Fitzgerald also star in the film. Cell follows Cusack’s character, an artist, who teams up with other survivors after a mysterious cell phone signal turns much of the population into mindless killers. The film was scripted by King and The Last House on the Left’s Adam Alleca. Tod Williams (Paranormal Activity 2) will direct. Cell will premiere at Glasgow Film Festival in Scotland this February, followed by it’s general release later this year.

New Art For Season 6 Of The Walking Dead Teases A New Larger World

Today AMC released the official artwork for the second half of season 6 of their hit undead series The Walking Dead, which returns on Valentine’s Day. Scott Gimple,The Walking Dead’s showrunner, commented on the new art saying “This image gives a look at tiny pieces of a larger world our group is about to discover,” Gimple continued “In the new world they’ll find hope, possibility, tragedy and the terrifying cost of change.” Gimple, Gale Ann Hurd, David Alpert, Tom Luse, Greg Nicotero and Robert Kirman, the comic’s creator, all serve as executive producers for the ground breaking series. The new art and statement by Gimple leads us to believe that the group will once again be on the move. It’s been made clear that Negan will be showing up some time this season, which leads to tragedy for the group. Penny Dreadful Has A New Trailer And Release Date

The first trailer for season 3 of Penny Dreadful has just been released and reveals Vanessa and Ethan both in dire situations. In the season 2 finale we saw Ethan, Vanessa , Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) and Victor (Harry Treadaway) going their separate ways after a show down with the witches. Vanessa (Eva Green) was still battling her demons and Ethan (Josh Hartnett) trying to hide his werewolf side. The trailer does not reveal if they will find their way back to each other. We also witnessed Lily (Billie Piper) and Dorian (Reeve Carney) together with a new fascination, which breaks Victor’s heart. Penny Dreadful is an incredible series that brings some our favorite classic horror characters together in a shared universe. The series is dark, well written and completely captivating. Be sure not to miss the season 3 premiere on Showtime on May 1st at 9 p.m.
