The first images have surfaced from the dark period-thriller ‘Brimstone’, from Dutch writer/director Martin Koolhoven. ‘Brimstone’ stars not one, but two of the ‘Game of Thrones’ cast. Kit Harington portrays an outlaw. Carice van Houten, known as Melisandre on the hit series, plays the role of Anna in the film.
Dakota Fanning (Twilight: Breaking Dawn 2) is featured in the lead role of Liz, a young woman running from her past and hunted by an evil preacher, played by Guy Pearce (Iron Man 3). Paul Anderson (The Revenant), Carla Juri (Wetlands) and Jack Roth (Us & Them) also co-star.
‘Brimstone’ is a tale of survival, strength and womanhood. Liz, the heroine of the tale is a mute young woman and midwife living with her husband and their two children. From the moment the preacher climbs the pulpit Liz knows that she and her family are in danger. The preacher becomes obsessed with destroying everything she loves just like in the past. But Liz is no victim.
