2016’s genre hit Don’t Breathe from Fede Alvarez made one hell of an impression with fans. It was revealed back in December that it would be getting a sequel.
It was confirmed this week by Alvarez himself that the sequel is still on and he was kind enough to give a couple of details including that the film will center on Stephen Lang’s character (the blind man).
While speaking to IGN Alvarez had this to say:
The Challenge obviously is we just don’t want to do the same movie again and just have a 2 in it.”
Producer Sam Raimi chimed in with what seems like a real vote of confidence in the story that Alvarez wants to tell next.
It’s only the greatest idea for a sequel I’ve ever heard. I’m not kidding.”
That comment coming from the guy (Raimi) behind hits like The Evil Dead, Drag Me to Hell, The Gift, and Army of Darkness, says A LOT!
It might be a while before the synopsis is released due to Alvarez Labyrinth project, which is next on his schedule, but we will keep you posted.
