Filming has now wrapped on Don’t Breathe 2, the sequel to Fede Alverez’s 2016 hit home invasion horror. Stephen Lang, who starred in the original returns as the badass blind man. During a chat with THR earlier this week, Lang teased that the sequel will be “very much its own thing.” I never walked away from a scene on this feeling like we’d left something on the table there. We really strived to get everything we could out of it,” said Lang. “It has a tremendous kinship with the first film, but in many ways — in every way — it’s very much its own thing.” We kind of debate and negotiate and massage every word, every phrase, every grunt,” Lang added. “We all have a ball doing it, because we enjoy working together. On the day-to-day life on set, I had a lot of input into it.” Don’t Breathe 2 is the feature directorial debut of Rodo Sayagues, who

With Bruce Campbell officially retiring Ash Williams, it would be a great time for a sequel to Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead (2013), and we think the director knows that. Alvarez, who is also behind the fantastic film Don’t Breathe, recently took to Twitter to ask fans (via a poll) what they want to him to do next, Evil Dead 2 or Don’t Breathe 2 and fans gave him a clear answer with 70% requesting Evil Dead 2. I’ll be honest, I would love to see both. Ok time to ask this. What should I do? — Fede Alvarez (@fedalvar) May 4, 2018 While there is no concrete word that either sequel will be happening any time soon, at least we now know that Alvarez is considering them and he knows fans are hungry for more. Which would you rather see first, Evil Dead 2 or Don’t Breathe 2?

In this cinematic landscape where entire franchises are outlined before their first film releases, the mere announcement of a sequel is far from a guarantee that sequel will be made. Stephen Lang, however, is pretty damn confident a second Don’t Breathe film is coming. In an interview with Screen Rant, Lang was about as clear as possible stating, “Oh yeah, we’re doing a sequel.” Well damn, that sure was easy. Lang played the old blind man in Don’t Breathe to genuine, terrifying perfection in what was one of 2016’s best horror films (which also include 2016’s grossest use of a turkey baster). This won’t just be a second helping of the same old stuff either, if producer Sam Raimi is telling the truth, stating way back in November of 2016 “It’s only the greatest idea for a sequel I’ve ever heard. I’m not kidding.” We haven’t actually seen any plot details for Don’t Breathe 2 but the first film did

2016’s genre hit Don’t Breathe from Fede Alvarez made one hell of an impression with fans. It was revealed back in December that it would be getting a sequel. It was confirmed this week by Alvarez himself that the sequel is still on and he was kind enough to give a couple of details including that the film will center on Stephen Lang’s character (the blind man). While speaking to IGN Alvarez had this to say: The Challenge obviously is we just don’t want to do the same movie again and just have a 2 in it.” Producer Sam Raimi chimed in with what seems like a real vote of confidence in the story that Alvarez wants to tell next. It’s only the greatest idea for a sequel I’ve ever heard. Fede Alvarez’s hit home-invasion film ‘Don’t Breathe‘ has been a huge success, raking in $152 million at the box office alone, which is pretty impressive for a film that cost $10 million to make. I expect the Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD numbers will be impressive as well. Taking the numbers in consideration, it’s no surprise that a sequel is in the works. Alvarez revealed to Coming Soon that after he wraps production on his next film, ‘The Girl in the Spider Web’, the sequel to ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’, he will begin working on ‘Don’t Breathe 2’. In ‘Don’t Breathe’, Jane Levy, who also starred in Alvarez’s Evil Dead, plays the role of Rocky, a young woman desperate for money who goes along with her boyfriend Money (Daniel Zovato) and their friend Alex (Dylan Minnette) on what they think is easy score. The trio target a blind man (Stephen Lang), but after breaking into his home they
